Mystical World Mod Guide: Mobs, Ores, Armor, Silk Farms & Decorative Blocks

Mystical World expands survival Minecraft with 15 new creatures, four underground ores, six armor materials, and a deep food and crafting ecosystem. Deer drop Venison, Beetles ride on your shoulder, Lava Cats prowl near lava pools, and Clams slowly grow Lustrous Pearls in ocean biomes. Every addition connects to a broader web of crafting that enriches the base game without replacing it.

Overview

Mystical World enriches survival Minecraft without overriding what already exists. It adds 15 new creatures, four underground ores and a craftable alloy, six additional armor materials, dozens of new foods and floral drinks, and an extensive collection of decorative building blocks. Every system connects, mob drops feed into armor crafting, crop harvests unlock new meals, and silk farms simplify Book production.

Browse all items and crafting recipes for this mod using the Items and Recipes tabs above. This guide walks through each system in progression order, from first encounters in the world to Orichalcum alloy and Pearl building sets.

Getting Started

  1. 1

    Encounter the New Mobs

Mystical World's animals appear in their natural biomes from day one. Deer roam forests and fields, dropping Venison and Leather. Beetles scuttle through undergrowth, dropping Carapace. Fennec patrol deserts and drop Pelt, which converts directly to Leather. Passive Sprouts wander open biomes, each dropping a different crop type when killed.

  2. 2

    Mine the New Ores

Four new ores generate throughout the Overworld. Tin Ore is the most common and appears at moderate depths, treat it as a step below Iron. Silver and Lead sit at Iron-equivalent depths, while Sapphire Ore is as rare as Diamond. Each ore also has a Deepslate variant below Y=0.

  3. 3

    Build a Silkworm Farm

Silkworms spawn near leaf blocks in forested areas and drop Silkworm Eggs when killed. Place a Silkworm Egg near leaves to hatch a new Silkworm. Over time they produce Silk Cocoons, which craft into Silk Thread. Silk Thread replaces String in the vanilla Book recipe, eliminating the need to hunt Spiders.

  4. 4

    Convert Rotten Flesh to Leather

Grow Gall Apples from Gall Apple Crop plants found in forests. Combine one Gall Apple with three Glass Bottles to craft 3 Vials of Tannin. Combine a Vial of Tannin with 1–3 Rotten Flesh to convert it directly into Leather, one piece per Flesh. This turns the Zombie drop surplus into a sustainable Leather source.

  5. 5

    Smelt Your First Orichalcum

Orichalcum is the highest-tier material in the mod. Combine Raw Silver, Raw Copper, and Raw Gold (or their dust equivalents) shapeless in a Crafting Table to get 3 Orichalcum Blend. Smelt the Blend in a Furnace to produce Orichalcum Ingots, then craft them into tools, weapons, or armor using standard vanilla patterns.

New Mobs

Peaceful Animals

Deer spawn in Forests and Plains, dropping 0–2 Leather, 1–3 Venison (which cooks automatically if the Deer was on fire when killed), and Antlers from male stags. Fennec in deserts drop 0–2 Pelt, each of which converts to one Leather. Ducks and Owls both drop up to 3 Feathers each. Frogs lurk in swamps and drop Slimeballs on death.

Beetles

Beetles are small passive insects that drop 1–3 Carapace and 0–1 Slimeballs. Carapace yields 2 Blue Dye each and is the crafting material for the full Beetle Armor set. Beetles can be worn on the player's shoulder by right-clicking them. Only one Beetle can ride at a time, attempting a second prompts the 'Your shoulders are otherwise occupied!' message.

Sprouts

Sprouts are small wandering plant creatures, each dropping a different crop when killed. There are five variants, including a Nether-dwelling type. They are entirely passive and can be used as a renewable crop source.

Lava Cat

Lava lakes, near obsidian formations

The Lava Cat is a passive feline that dwells near lava. The Lava variant spawns on or near lava surfaces and drops Obsidian with a 70% chance, or Cobblestone otherwise. The Obsidian Cat variant drops Cobblestone. Both are fully fire-immune and provide a renewable Obsidian source without mining, useful in the early game before a Diamond Pickaxe.

Lava Cats can be tamed with Blaze Rods and bred with Blaze Powder. Dousing a Lava Cat with water transforms it into an Obsidian Cat. Placing it near lava reverts it back to the Lava variant.

Endermini and Clam

The Endermini is a miniature Enderman-like creature that behaves neutrally when not provoked. It drops 0–1 Young Pearl. Nine Young Pearls combine into one Ender Pearl, a fully renewable Ender Pearl source that bypasses Endermen entirely.

Clams spawn in ocean biomes and can be scooped into a Clam Bucket for transport. Placed in water, each Clam slowly matures. A mature standard Clam yields one Lustrous Pearl, while a rare Ender Clam variant yields an Ender Pearl instead. The Pearleporter tool extracts the pearl without harming the Clam, and it also displays the maturity countdown on immature Clams.

Ores and Metals

Four new ores generate throughout the Overworld. Tin Ore is the most accessible, found from moderate depths upward, and produces Tin Ingots for tools and armor that sit below Iron in tier. Silver and Lead ores appear around the same depths as Iron and Redstone, providing two distinct mid-tier metals. Sapphire Ore generates at diamond-level depths and is genuinely rare. A Granite Quartz Ore variant inside Granite veins also provides an extra Quartz source.

Orichalcum is not mined, it is alloyed. Combine Raw Silver, Raw Copper, and Raw Gold in a Crafting Table to get 3 Orichalcum Blend, or use their dust equivalents to make Orichalcum Dust. Smelt either blend in a Furnace to produce Orichalcum Ingots, the highest-tier material the mod offers.

ℹ️Deepslate Variants

Tin, Silver, Lead, and Sapphire all have Deepslate variants that generate below Y=0 in deepslate stone. They smelt into the same Ingots as their surface counterparts. When strip-mining in the deep underground, you will encounter Deepslate Lead Ore, Deepslate Silver Ore, Deepslate Tin Ore, and Deepslate Sapphire Ore, all equally usable.

Tools and Weapons

Knives are added for every material tier in the game: Wood, Stone, Iron, Gold, Diamond, Netherite, Copper, Tin, Silver, Lead, Sapphire, and Orichalcum. Each Knife is crafted from one material unit plus one Stick. Smelting any metal Knife in a Furnace returns its material's Nugget, making Knives a lossless way to recover metal when upgrading tiers.

A full Cactus tool set. Sword, Pickaxe, Axe, Shovel, Hoe, and Knife, is crafted directly from Cactus blocks and Sticks. These tools provide a pre-Iron alternative and can be assembled the moment Cactus is available.

The Glistering Horn is a high-damage weapon crafted from 8 Silver Ingots surrounding a Nautilus Horn. The Pearleporter is a utility tool built from Gold Nuggets, a Lustrous Pearl, and Sticks; right-clicking a mature Clam with it extracts the pearl and leaves the Clam alive. The Spindle, built from a Stick, three Charred Slabs, and a Tripwire Hook, is a component in the silk processing workflow.

Armor Sets

Six metal armor sets are available using standard vanilla crafting patterns. Copper is the first accessible new set, sitting between Gold and Iron in protection. Tin is a weaker but readily available early option. Silver and Lead both occupy the Iron protection tier, with Lead providing heavier resistance and Silver favoring enchantability.

Sapphire approaches Diamond-level protection and is one of the strongest pre-endgame options. Orichalcum, being an alloyed metal, rivals Diamond and represents the mod's highest craftable tier. Both require significant resource investment but reward the effort with top-tier defense.

Beetle Armor is crafted from Carapace harvested from Beetles. It follows the standard four-piece layout and provides unique insect-chitin aesthetics alongside solid protection. The Antler Hat is a cosmetic headwear item dropped by male Deer, it has no armor value but can be worn as decoration.

The Silkworm System

Silkworms spawn naturally near leaf blocks in forested biomes. They eat leaves over time and deposit Silk Cocoons on nearby surfaces. Collect Silk Cocoons and craft them shapeless, one Cocoon yields 3 Silk Thread.

Silk Thread substitutes for String in the vanilla Book recipe, removing the need to fight Spiders for progression into enchanting and libraries. An Encyclopedia is crafted by combining a Book with an Aubergine, producing an in-game reference guide to Mystical World's content.

💡The Spindle

The Spindle is crafted from a Stick, three Charred Slabs, and a Tripwire Hook. It is a crafting component associated with the silk and fiber system. To craft Charred Slabs, first obtain Charred Logs (from Charred Trees in the world or by crafting), convert them to Charred Planks, then cut those into Charred Slabs.

Leather from Rotten Flesh

Gall Apples drop from Gall Apple Crop plants found in forests and meadows. Combine one Gall Apple with three Glass Bottles in a Crafting Table to craft 3 Vials of Tannin. A single Vial converts 1–3 Rotten Flesh into the same number of Leather pieces in one crafting operation.

This turns surplus Rotten Flesh from Zombie fights into a sustainable Leather supply. Pelt dropped by Fennec also converts directly into one Leather in the Crafting Table with no additional ingredients, making deserts a reliable source of both Pelt and Leather without needing Cows.

Clams and the Pearl System

Clams spawn in ocean biomes and can be picked up using a Clam Bucket, similar to how fish are collected. Placed back in water, each Clam grows over time toward maturity. A mature standard Clam yields one Lustrous Pearl; a rare Ender Clam variant yields one Ender Pearl instead.

The Pearleporter extracts the pearl on right-click without killing the Clam. On an immature Clam, it shows the remaining seconds until maturity. Set up a Clam farm in a small pool near your base to generate Lustrous Pearls passively.

Nine Young Pearls (dropped by Enderminis in small quantities) combine into one Ender Pearl. Lustrous Pearls craft into Pearl Blocks, which support a complete building set including Pearl Stairs, Pearl Slabs, Pearl Walls, Pearl Fence, and Pearl Posts.

Food and Drink

Crops and Meals

Aubergine is a farmable crop grown from Aubergine Seeds, which are found in the wild or dropped by Purple Sprouts. The plant grows like Wheat and can be harvested for replanting. Cooked Aubergine is the base for Stuffed Aubergine and Stewed Eggplant. Several salads, including Aubergine Salad, Beetroot Salad, Cactus Dandelion Salad, and Dandelion Cornflower Salad, combine vegetables for multi-serving crafting.

Venison from Deer cooks automatically when the Deer is on fire. Raw Squid can be cooked into Cooked Squid. Fish and Chips is crafted from Cooked Squid, Baked Potatoes, and Vinegar. The Epic Squid is a luxury food item requiring Cooked Squid, Lustrous Pearls, and an Emerald, crafting it is a late-game indulgence.

Cordials and Drinks

Cordials are floral beverages brewed from common flowers. Rose, Dandelion, Lilac, and Peony each yield 4 cordials when combined with Sugar and a Water Bucket with Glass Bottles. Dandelion Cordial gives the Wakeful effect, which prevents Phantom spawning at night as though you had slept, even if you have skipped multiple nights.

Cactus Syrup is the desert equivalent, crafted from Cactus, Sugar, and Water. Vegetable Juice combines Aubergine, Beetroot, and Carrot with Glass Bottles and Water. Vinegar, made from Sea Pickles and Glass Bottles, is both a standalone drink and an ingredient in Fish and Chips. Rose Cordial and similar flower cordials provide revitalizing bursts of energy on consumption.

Decorative Blocks

Wood and Thatched Materials

Charred Wood is a scorched dark-toned wood type that appears as Charred Trees in the world. It processes into Logs, Planks, Slabs, Stairs, Walls, Fences, Fence Gates, Buttons, Pressure Plates, and both Small and Wide Posts, the complete vanilla wood variant set. Thatch is woven from Hay Bales and Wheat, yielding 32 blocks per craft, and shares the same full building variant set including Thatch Stairs, Thatch Slab, and Thatch Fence.

Mud, Clay, and Stone Variants

Wet Mud Block is crafted from 8 Dirt surrounding a Water Bucket, yielding 8 blocks. Smelting a Wet Mud Block produces a Mud Block. Four Mud Blocks craft into Mud Brick, or smelt Wet Mud Bricks directly. Both Mud Block and Mud Brick have stairs, slabs, walls, fences, fence gates, buttons, pressure plates, and posts. Terracotta Brick is crafted from 4 Terracotta in a 2x2 grid and goes through the same full variant set.

Soft Stone is made from 4 Smooth Stone and provides a lighter-toned stone variant. Soft Obsidian is crafted from Blackened Stone and produces a dark, obsidian-toned set that is far easier to obtain than vanilla Obsidian. Iron Brick is crafted from 4 Iron Nuggets in a 2x2 grid, producing a rugged metallic structural block.

Organic and Gem Blocks

Brown Mushroom Block, Red Mushroom Block, Mushroom Inside Block, and Mushroom Stem each support slabs, stairs, walls, fences, fence gates, buttons, and posts. Carapace Block, Pearl Block, and Sapphire Block all have building variants including stairs, slabs, and walls. Bone Piles and Skeletal Remains (crafted from Bones) are macabre decorative props perfect for graveyards or dungeons.

💡Stonecutter Compatibility

Most new block types in Mystical World are compatible with the Stonecutter. This lets you cut Soft Stone, Terracotta Brick, Mud Brick, Pearl Block, Carapace Block, and Sapphire Block into their variant forms individually rather than using shaped crafting recipes. The Stonecutter is the most efficient way to produce small quantities of any specific variant.

FAQ

How do I find and farm Silkworms?

Silkworms spawn naturally near leaf blocks in forested biomes. They are small and easy to miss, look for them crawling on or near the ground under tree canopy. Killing a Silkworm drops Silkworm Eggs. Placing a Silkworm Egg near leaves hatches a new Silkworm, letting you establish a permanent farm. Build an enclosed leaf-block pen near your base and place several eggs to start a productive colony.

What does Dandelion Cordial do, and how is it crafted?

Dandelion Cordial grants the Wakeful effect, which prevents Phantom spawning at night as though you had slept. It is crafted by placing Dandelions, Sugar, a Water Bucket, and Glass Bottles in a specific shaped grid, yielding 4 cordials per craft. Drinking one before nightfall keeps Phantoms away without requiring a bed or skipping the night.

How do I make Orichalcum Ingots?

Combine one Raw Silver, one Raw Copper, and one Raw Gold shapeless in a Crafting Table to produce 3 Orichalcum Blend. Smelt the Blend in a Furnace to get Orichalcum Ingots. Alternatively, combine Silver Dust, Copper Dust, and Gold Dust to craft Orichalcum Dust, which also smelts into Orichalcum Ingots. The dust route requires additional dust-processing steps but is useful when you have dust surplus.

How do I extract a Pearl from a Clam without killing it?

Craft a Pearleporter from Gold Nuggets, a Lustrous Pearl, and Sticks. Right-click a mature Clam in water with the Pearleporter to extract its pearl while leaving the Clam alive. If the Clam is not yet mature, the Pearleporter displays the number of seconds remaining until maturity. The Clam then begins growing again after extraction.

Can the Beetle really ride on my shoulder?

Yes. Right-click a Beetle to have it perch on your shoulder. You cannot carry two at once, right-clicking a second Beetle while one is already riding triggers the message 'Your shoulders are otherwise occupied!' rather than picking up the second one. The riding Beetle stays in place through most player actions, including moving, mining, and combat.

What is Wasp Attractant used for?

Wasp Attractant is crafted from Bone Meal, Sugar, and Venison, yielding 4 units. It is used to plant Gall Apple Crops: right-click it on the side of an oak log or oak wood block to place a Gall Apple Crop adjacent to that block. This is how you farm Gall Apples, which are then used to craft Vials of Tannin for converting Rotten Flesh into Leather. Despite the name, there are no Wasp mobs in the mod.
