L_Ender's Cataclysm Mod Guide: Bosses, Dungeons, Weapons & Progression
L_Ender's Cataclysm adds eight massive boss fights spread across the Overworld, Nether, and End, each hidden within elaborate dungeon structures. From the lava-spewing Netherite Monstrosity to the deep-sea Leviathan, every boss drops unique weapons and materials that can be combined in the Mechanical Fusion Anvil to create even more powerful gear.
Overview
L_Ender's Cataclysm is an end-game boss and dungeon mod that adds seven massive structures scattered across all three dimensions, each housing challenging mini-bosses and a main boss with unique attack patterns and multiple phases. The mod's progression is built around defeating bosses to collect their drops, then combining those drops in a special crafting station called the
Mechanical Fusion Anvil to forge even more powerful weapons. Every boss fight is a multi-phase encounter with custom animations, dedicated boss music, and devastating attacks that will punish unprepared players.
The mod adds over 200 items and blocks, including four full armor sets, dozens of unique weapons, decorative building blocks, and special locator items for finding each dungeon. You can browse all recipes and items using the tabs at the top of this page. This guide will walk you through the recommended progression order, what to expect in each dungeon, and how to use the gear you'll earn along the way.
Getting Started

Craft a Locator Eye
Each dungeon has a corresponding Eye item that works like an Eye of Ender, guiding you to the nearest structure. Craft the
Eye of Monstrous (for the Nether),
Eye of Mech (for the Overworld), Desert Eye, Abyss Eye, Flame Eye, Void Eye, Storm Eye, or Cursed Eye depending on which dungeon you want to find. These eyes are multi-use and won't break when thrown, making them reusable navigation tools. - 2
Start with the Netherite Monstrosity
The Netherite Monstrosity in the Soul Blacksmith is widely considered the easiest boss with 500 HP and straightforward melee attacks. Stock up on Fire Resistance Potions and bring an Enchanted Golden Apple. The boss requires no activation item; it wakes up when you approach. Defeating it drops the
Infernal Forge, your first major Cataclysm weapon. - 3
Tackle the Ender Guardian Next
Head to the End and use a Void Eye to find the Ruined Citadel. Defeat the Ender Golems inside (they drop Void Cores, which are critical for later boss fights and fusion recipes). The Ender Guardian has 333 HP and multiple gravity-based attacks. You'll earn the
Gauntlet of Guard for pulling enemies toward you. - 4
Build the Mechanical Fusion Anvil
After defeating the Harbinger in the Ancient Factory, you'll receive a Witherite Block. Break it into 9 Witherite Ingots and use 6 of them to craft the
Mechanical Fusion Anvil. This special crafting station lets you combine boss drops into upgraded weapons. For example, the
Infernal Forge plus a
Void Core creates the

Collect Drops and Fuse Weapons
Continue through the remaining bosses (Ancient Remnant, Leviathan, Ignis, Maledictus, Scylla) collecting unique drops from each. Use the
Mechanical Fusion Anvil to combine items from different bosses into the most powerful weapons in the mod. The best weapons in Cataclysm require drops from multiple bosses, so there's always a reason to take on the next challenge.
While you can fight bosses in any order, the recommended progression is: Netherite Monstrosity (Nether) > Ender Guardian (End) > Harbinger (Overworld underground) > Cursed Pyramid / Ancient Remnant (Desert) > Sunken City / Leviathan (Ocean) > Ignis (Nether) > Maledictus (Overworld) > Scylla (Ocean). This order gradually increases in difficulty and ensures you have the right gear for each fight.
Nether Dungeons
Soul Blacksmith: Netherite Monstrosity
The Soul Blacksmith is a large arena structure in the Nether. Craft an
Eye of Monstrous using Lava Buckets, Netherite Scrap, Blackstone, and an Eye of Ender to locate it. The structure contains valuable blocks like Anvils, Cauldrons, and Blast Furnaces around its perimeter. Unlike other Cataclysm bosses, the Netherite Monstrosity requires no activation item and will simply wake up when you get close.
The Netherite Monstrosity has 500 HP and 10 armor. Its primary attacks include devastating close-range slams that deal 21 damage plus 8% of your max HP, and a ranged lava bomb attack that creates pools of lava on the ground. The lava bomb has a magazine of 3 shots, after which the boss must recharge by sucking in lava, which also heals it. Never give it the chance to recharge. At 33% health, it becomes enraged, attacking faster and catching fire. Fire Resistance is absolutely essential for this fight, as the arena will quickly fill with lava.
Defeating the Netherite Monstrosity drops the
Infernal Forge, a hammer weapon that doubles as a Pickaxe capable of mining Obsidian. Right-clicking a block with it causes AoE damage and knocks enemies into the air with an 80-tick cooldown. It also drops the
Monstrous Horn, which can be combined with a Netherite Helmet using the Netherite Upgrade
Smithing Template to create the
Monstrous Helm. This helmet knocks back nearby enemies when your health drops below half, while granting increased defense, knockback resistance, and regeneration.
Burning Arena: Ignis
The Burning Arena is located in the Nether and found using a Flame Eye (crafted from Blaze Powder, Netherite Scrap, Soul Sand, and an Eye of Ender). Ignis is considered the hardest boss in Cataclysm with 450 HP and 10 armor, and should not be attempted without end-game gear. Before fighting Ignis, you must defeat two Ignited Revenants (80 HP, 12 armor each) in the basement. They use Ashen Breath and Bone Storm attacks, and can block with shields that must be broken with critical Axe hits. They drop
Burning Ashes, which are required to activate Ignis at the altar.
Ignis wields a sword with life-steal that heals him when he hits you. His attacks deal 14 damage plus 5% of your max HP on normal swings, and his Shield Smash deals 14x1.5 damage plus 15% of your max HP. His sword attacks also inflict a brand effect that melts your armor, lowering your defense. The
Void Core (from Ender Golems) is extremely effective against Ignis, summoning Void Runes that deal consistent damage. You can also deflect Ignis's pink fireballs back at him (like Ghast Fireballs) to break his shield. At 50% health, Ignis enters Phase 2, turning blue with faster attacks.
Ignis drops 3 Ignitium Ingots, which are used to craft the best armor in the mod.
The Incinerator (13 attack damage) can be crafted and features a Flame Strike ability. The
Bulwark of the Flame is a Shield that lets you charge at enemies, dealing bonus damage if they hit a wall. Ignitium Armor is crafted using Ignitium Ingots and Netherite Armor at a Smithing Table with the Ignitium Upgrade Template. Each piece has unique abilities: the Helmet lets you see under lava, the Boots let you walk on lava, and the Chestplate can have an Elytra attached via the
Mechanical Fusion Anvil.
Every time Ignis hits you with his sword, he heals. This means prolonged fights actually favor the boss. Maximize your damage output with the
Void Core and deflected fireballs to keep the fight as short as possible. Bring Ender Pearls to teleport away from his devastating Shield Smash.
End Dungeon
Ruined Citadel: Ender Guardian
The Ruined Citadel is found in the End using a Void Eye (Purpur Blocks, Shulker Shells, End Stone Bricks, and an Eye of Ender). The structure is a multi-floor maze inhabited by Endermaptera (small hostile creatures) and Ender Golems. The Ender Golems are mini-bosses with 150 HP and 12 armor that wake up when you approach. They attack with melee slams and Void Runes. Defeating them drops the
Void Core, one of the most important items in the mod, which summons a line of damaging Void Runes when used (160-tick cooldown).
The Ender Guardian sits at the bottom of the citadel behind hidden Iron Trapdoors. It has 333 HP and 20 armor, making it well-defended. Its attacks include teleporting charges, gravity pulls (dealing 16 plus 5% of your max HP), and Void Rune summons. The Guardian harnesses void energy to attract nearby entities. At 50% health, the floor collapses into a second arena, the Guardian's helmet breaks (reducing its armor from 20 to 15), and a Shulker is revealed underneath. In this phase, the Guardian becomes vulnerable to arrows, massively increasing your damage potential.
The Ender Guardian drops the
Gauntlet of Guard (11 attack damage), which lets you hold right-click to pull entities toward you. This is incredibly useful for pulling flying enemies out of the sky and dropping them, or grouping mobs together for AoE attacks. It also drops a
music disc.
Overworld Dungeons
Ancient Factory: The Harbinger
The Ancient Factory generates deep underground in the Overworld (below Y=0). Use an
Eye of Mech (Iron Ingots, Redstone Blocks, Eye of Ender) to find it. Once the eye dives underground, start digging. The structure is surrounded by impenetrable Dungeon Blocks, so you must find the entrance by tunneling around the outer corners. Inside, you'll find Watchers (basic laser-shooting enemies that drop Redstone Dust and Iron Ingots) and the Prowler, a heavily-armored mini-boss with 160 HP and 10 armor that fires homing missiles and is completely immune to projectiles.
The Harbinger must be activated by placing a Nether Star into its chest cavity. It has 390 HP, 12 armor, and fights almost entirely at range with laser shots (4 HP plus burning), Wither Missiles (8 HP plus Wither II for 10 seconds), homing missile barrages (3 HP each), artillery showers (5 HP with lingering Wither clouds), a devastating dash assault (15 HP plus 6% of your max HP that breaks blocks including Obsidian), and the Death Beam, a continuous laser that melts 10 HP per tick while setting you ablaze. To counter the Death Beam, lure it into one of the six
EMP pillars scattered around the arena. The beam charges the EMP; pull the lever to stun the Harbinger.
At 50% health, the Harbinger enters Phase 2, becoming immune to projectiles and gaining enhanced attacks. It regenerates health passively throughout the fight, destroys any breakable blocks it contacts, and will terminate any non-Ancient Factory mob in its vicinity. When defeated, it self-destructs for up to 70 HP point-blank, so keep your distance. It drops a Witherite Block (9 Witherite Ingots) and a 10% chance for a
music disc.
There's also a secret loot room in the factory. Find the two Minecarts near the entrance, press the button to send them rolling toward two gaps above the Harbinger. If they reach the Activator Rails successfully, a hidden door opens to the right of the boss containing valuable materials.
Cursed Pyramid: Ancient Remnant
The Cursed Pyramid generates rarely in Desert biomes and can be extremely far from spawn. Craft a Desert Eye (Gold Ingot, Chiseled Sandstone, Emerald, Dead Bush, Eye of Ender, Cactus, Rotten Flesh, Bone) to locate it. The pyramid is a multi-floor maze filled with traps: Ignite Traps deal 5 HP rapidly and burn for 5 seconds, Poison Dart Traps fire arrows dealing 5 HP plus Poison II for 5 seconds (triggered by tripwires), and Falling Traps collapse when walked on.
The pyramid swarms with Koboletons, small skeletal creatures that are individually weak but attack in numbers. Their most annoying ability is a 5% chance per hit to force-drop the item from your main or off-hand. Equip
Sticky Gloves (crafted from String, Leather, Slime Ball, and Rabbit Hide) to prevent this. Two mini-bosses lurk within: the Kobolediator (180 HP, 10 armor), a sword-wielding behemoth whose charges break blocks, and the Wadjet (150 HP, 5 armor), a serpent goddess that summons concussive sand dealing 18 HP and inflicting Curse of the Desert, which inverts your movement controls.
To awaken the Ancient Remnant, you need a
Necklace of the Desert found by brushing Suspicious Sand deposits throughout the pyramid. The boss is a gargantuan skeletal dinosaur with 400 HP and 10 armor. It is immune to projectiles and fire/lava. Its attacks include: Stampede (44 HP charge), Chomp (38 HP), Tail Whip (30 HP AoE plus 5-second stun), Tail Smash (30 HP direct, 5 HP shockwaves), Concussive Sand (18 HP plus Curse of the Desert), and Sand Twisters (5 HP plus Curse of the Desert). At 50% health, it enters Phase 2 with permanent 2 HP/second regeneration. Hitting the necklace on its neck will knock it down briefly, giving you a window to attack.
The Ancient Remnant drops the
Sandstorm in a Bottle (equip in belt slot, press X to transform into a sand twister for 5 seconds with flight), a Remnant Skull (summons a tameable Modern Remnant pet; feed it a Sniffer Egg to tame), an Ancient Metal Block (9 ingots for crafting Bone Reptile armor), and a 10% chance for a
music disc.
Craft
Sticky Gloves (String + Leather + Slime Ball + Rabbit Hide) before entering the Cursed Pyramid. Without them, Koboletons will constantly knock weapons out of your hands during combat, which can be fatal when fighting the Kobolediator or Wadjet mini-bosses.
Ocean Dungeon
Sunken City: The Leviathan
The Sunken City generates rarely in deep ocean biomes. Craft an Abyss Eye (Obsidian, Crying Obsidian, and Eye of Ender) and follow it by boat until you see a large dome on the horizon. The city is a sprawling underwater structure with five main sections: entrance, boss arena, ore deposit chamber, prison (with Coralssus mini-bosses), and a library. The
Altar of Amethyst is housed in a Roman-style temple within the city and is the only way to bless
Amethyst Crab Meat, which is critical for the Leviathan fight.
Before fighting the Leviathan, you'll need to prepare extensively. Hunt Amethyst Crabs in Lush Caves (200 HP, 10 armor mini-bosses that drop Crab Shells and Crab Meat), then bless the meat at the
Altar of Amethyst to gain immunity to the Leviathan's Darkness, Abyssal Fear, and Abyssal Burn debuffs. You'll also need to craft an
Abyssal Sacrifice (Nautilus Shell,
Athame,
Crystallized Coral, Diamond Block, Heart of the Sea, Emerald Block, Iron Block, Amethyst Block, Gold Block) to place on the Altar of the Abyss to summon the Leviathan. The Athame is dropped by Coralssus (110 HP, 5 armor), the coral golem mini-bosses found throughout the city.
The Leviathan has 400 HP and 10 armor, and the entire fight takes place underwater. Bring two Tridents: one with Loyalty and Impaling for ranged damage, and one with Riptide for emergency escapes. Depth Strider boots and Water Breathing potions are mandatory. The Leviathan's attacks include a devastating portal that sucks you in (use Riptide to escape), underwater mines, homing orbs, a Godzilla-like laser beam, abyssal blast attacks from portals, and a tongue grapple that pulls you in. At 50% health, it enters Phase 2 with enhanced attacks. If the Leviathan is outside water, it becomes immune to damage by default (configurable).
Defeating the Leviathan drops
Tidal Claws (8 attack damage), which act as both a grappling hook (hold right-click) and a tentacle attack (left-click latches onto enemies, chaining through multiple targets). It also drops an
Abyssal Egg, which can be placed down to hatch a Baby Leviathan after about 10 minutes. Enclose it in a fence, and feed the hatched baby Tropical Fish to tame it. The tamed Baby Leviathan fights alongside you with its own laser attacks.
Sunken City Mobs
Several classes of Deeplings inhabit the Sunken City and can also spawn naturally in deep ocean biomes. Generic Deeplings wield throwable Coral Spears (5.5 attack damage, an inferior Trident). Deepling Brutes are elite warriors capable of using Riptide, dropping the
Coral Bardiche (10 attack damage, +1.5 entity reach). Deepling Anglers attack with fishing rods or poisonous arm strikes (Poison II for 2 seconds). Deepling Priests and Warlocks provide support and magical attacks. When mounted on a Coralssus, all Deeplings become significantly more dangerous.
Additional Bosses
Maledictus
Maledictus is an Overworld boss found using a Cursed Eye (Gold Ingots, Bone, Phantom Membrane, Eye of Ender, Rotten Flesh). With 420 HP and 10 armor, this boss features a complex moveset including shockwave attacks (3% max HP damage), flying smashes (10% max HP damage), and phantom halberd projectiles dealing 10 damage. Maledictus drops materials for crafting Cursium equipment, including the Cursium Armor set and Cursium weapons. The
Cursium Upgrade Smithing Template is crafted with Gold Ingots, Black Steel Ingots, and a Netherite Upgrade Template. Maledictus also drops Cursium Ingots for the
Soul Render (14 attack damage) and the
Cursed Bow.
Scylla
Scylla resides in the Acropolis, an ocean structure located with a Storm Eye (Prismarine, Lightning Rod, Diamond, Eye of Ender, Water Bucket). With 390 HP and 12 armor, Scylla attacks with lightning storms, spear throws (14 damage), anchor slams (16 damage), and snake strikes (16 damage). The fight can change the weather. Scylla drops materials for crafting the
Ceraunus (15 attack damage, the highest in the mod) and the
Astrape (10.5 attack damage), both lightning-themed weapons made from
Essence of the Storm and
Lacrima.

Weapons and Gear
Witherite Weapons
Witherite Ingots from the Harbinger's drop craft into three weapons. The
Meat Shredder (8.5 attack damage) is an unbreakable, enchantable weapon that rapidly grinds health off entities when right-clicked, ignoring invincibility frames with AoE. The
Laser Gatling (4 damage per shot) fires rapidly with a 50-shot magazine that costs just 1 Redstone Dust to fully refill; it's unbreakable but not enchantable, and its projectiles ignite flammable blocks. The Wither Assault Shoulder Weapon is a rocket launcher dealing 16 damage with Wither II for 10 seconds on right-click, or Wither Howitzers (8 damage, Wither II for 20 seconds) when sneaking.
Mechanical Fusion Anvil Combinations
The
Mechanical Fusion Anvil is the ultimate crafting station, requiring 6 Witherite Ingots and an Anvil to build. It combines boss drops into empowered weapons with new abilities. The
Void Forge (
Infernal Forge +
Void Core) summons Void Runes in a fan shape on right-click while still functioning as a Pickaxe (120-tick cooldown). The
Gauntlet of Bulwark (
Gauntlet of Guard +

The Immolator combines fire and annihilation powers (7.5 attack damage with a 300-tick flame strike ability). The Ignitium Elytra Chest Plate fuses an Elytra onto Ignitium armor. The

Black Steel Tools
Black Steel is a material dropped by Maledictus-related content and can be found as equipment in certain dungeons. Black Steel Nuggets can be smelted from Black Steel Axes in a Blast Furnace and crafted into ingots (9 nuggets = 1 ingot). A full tool set is available: Sword, Pickaxe, Axe, Shovel, and Hoe. The
Black Steel Targe is a specialized shield variant. While not as powerful as boss-tier weapons, Black Steel tools serve as a solid stepping stone in your progression.

Weapon Damage Reference
All Cataclysm weapons have unique attack damage values (shown as the total including the base 1.0 player damage). The highest-damage melee weapons are the
Ceraunus at 16 total damage and the
Soul Render at 15 total damage, both requiring late-game materials.
The Incinerator comes in at 14 total damage with its flame strike ability. Most boss-drop weapons are unbreakable, making them permanent upgrades worth the effort to craft.

Tameable Companions
Cataclysm features two tameable boss-drop companions. The Modern Remnant is summoned using the Remnant Skull dropped by the Ancient Remnant. Feed it a Sniffer Egg to tame it, and it will fight alongside you in combat. It can be stored in a bucket for easy transport, and if it dies, it drops its skull so you can resummon it (though you'll need another Sniffer Egg to retame). Koboleton and normal Bones heal your Modern Remnant for 5 HP each.
The Baby Leviathan hatches from the
Abyssal Egg dropped by the Leviathan. Place the egg in an enclosed area (a fenced pen works), wait approximately 10 minutes for it to hatch, then feed the baby Tropical Fish to tame it. The tamed Baby Leviathan has its own laser attacks, making it a powerful combat companion, especially in water.
Decorative Blocks
Cataclysm adds a large collection of decorative building blocks.
Azure Seastone is the primary building material from the Sunken City, available in regular, polished, brick, tile, pillar, and chiseled variants with full slab, stair, and wall support. Obsidian can be turned into
Polished Obsidian and
Obsidian Bricks with similar variants. End Stone gains Polished and Pillar variants. Purpur Blocks get Tiles and additional pillar styles.
Void Stone and Void-infused blocks add dark, End-themed decorations. Chorus Stems can be crafted into
Chorus Planks for a full wood-type set including slabs, stairs, fences, and trapdoors.
Stone Tiles and
Frosted Stone Bricks round out the selection. Many of these can be crafted at a Stonecutter for efficient block conversion. Check the Recipes tab for the full list of decorative block recipes.
Configuration
Cataclysm is highly configurable through its cataclysm.toml config file. Every boss has individual health multipliers, damage multipliers, and damage caps that server operators can adjust. Boss respawning can be toggled individually (Netherite Monstrosity, Ender Guardian, Harbinger, Ancient Remnant, and Scylla all have respawn toggles). Block-breaking behavior can be enabled or disabled per boss. Weapon cooldowns for every Cataclysm item are individually configurable, from the
Infernal Forge (default 80 ticks) to
the Incinerator (default 400 ticks). Boss music can be toggled on or off globally, with volume control. Mob spawn weights for Deeplings, Amethyst Crabs, Koboletons, and Coral Golems are all adjustable, and the Armor Infinity Durability setting (enabled by default) makes Cataclysm armor unbreakable.
Frequently Asked Questions
What order should I fight the bosses in?
The recommended order is: Netherite Monstrosity (easiest, no activation item needed) > Ender Guardian (for Void Cores) > Harbinger (for Witherite and the
Mechanical Fusion Anvil) > Ancient Remnant > Leviathan > Ignis (hardest, requires
Void Core to fight effectively) > Maledictus > Scylla. You can technically fight them in any order, but this progression ensures you have the right tools for each successive fight.
Do Cataclysm bosses respawn after I kill them?
By default, the Netherite Monstrosity, Ender Guardian, Harbinger, Ancient Remnant, and Scylla all have respawning enabled in the config. This means their structures will regenerate the boss after some time, allowing you to farm their drops. Other bosses like Ignis and the Leviathan do not respawn by default. Server operators can toggle respawning on or off for each boss individually in the cataclysm.toml config.
How do I find the Cursed Pyramid? It seems extremely rare.
The Cursed Pyramid is indeed one of the rarest structures, sometimes spawning 25,000+ blocks from spawn. Craft a Desert Eye and throw it repeatedly to track the direction. If you have Explorer's Compass from another mod, search for the Cursed Pyramid structure directly. The pyramid only generates in desert biomes, so heading to large desert regions first will improve your chances.
Why can't I damage the Leviathan?
By default, the Leviathan is immune to damage when out of water (LeviathanImmuneOutofWater config option). Make sure you're fighting it in the Sunken City's underwater arena, not trying to lure it onto land.
