Create Stuff 'N Additions Mod Guide: Tools, Powered Armor & Vehicles
Create Stuff 'N Additions expands the Create mod with full tool and armor sets for Copper, Zinc, and Brass, plus powered equipment like Exoskeletons that grant Strength and Haste, Encased Jet chestplates for flight, and Accelerator Leggings for incredible speed. It also adds unique gadgets like the Blaze Flame Thrower, Nozzle Fan, Brass Moped vehicle, and several decorative blocks.
Overview
Create Stuff 'N Additions takes the materials you already produce in Create and turns them into a complete progression of tools, armor, and powered equipment. If you have been mass-producing Brass Ingots and Copper Ingots with nothing to spend them on, this mod gives those resources a real purpose. You get five tiers of tools ranging from basic Copper up to the powerful Blazing and Shadow Steel sets, each with unique special effects like auto-smelting and experience generation.
Beyond tools, the mod introduces powered armor pieces that consume fuel to grant you abilities like flight, super speed, enhanced mining, and extra strength. There are also gadgets like the
Blaze Flame Thrower for combat and the
Nozzle Fan for pushing entities around, plus the
Brass Moped, a rideable vehicle. Several decorative blocks round out the package, including the
Nixie Lamp,
Brass Globe, and
Refined Radiance Neon. You can browse every item and recipe this mod adds using the tabs at the top of this page.
Prerequisites
This is an addon for the Create mod, so you need Create installed and running. Before you can access the mid-tier and late-tier content, you will need a Mixer for Blazing tools, Mechanical Crafters for Rose Quartz tools, Exoskeletons, Jetpacks, and the
Brass Moped. Make sure you have a reliable supply of Brass Ingots (crafted from Copper and Zinc in a Mixer), plenty of Zinc Ingots, and access to Precision Mechanisms, Cogwheels, and Brass Casings. Having a Furnace Engine is required for the Moped.
Getting Started
- 1
Craft Copper and Zinc Tools
Your first step is crafting basic Copper and Zinc tool sets. Both use standard vanilla crafting patterns on a Crafting Table. Copper tools have 131 durability and 5.0 mining speed, while Zinc tools have 250 durability but a slower 4.0 mining speed. These are early-game options that let you use Create's metals productively.
- 2
Upgrade to Brass Tools
Once you have Brass Ingots from your Mixer, craft Brass tools on a Crafting Table. With 450 durability, 8.0 mining speed, and harvest level 3 (Diamond-tier), these are a major upgrade. They can mine Obsidian and anything Diamond tools can.
- 3
Craft Zinc Handles
Zinc Handles are a crafting component used in Shadow Steel and Rose Quartz tool recipes. Craft them by placing two Zinc Ingots vertically on a Crafting Table, yielding 2 handles. Stock up on these early since the advanced tool sets require them.
- 4
Build Mechanical Crafters
Mechanical Crafters are required for Rose Quartz tools, all powered armor (Exoskeletons, Jetpacks, Accelerators), and the
Brass Portable Drill. Set up a grid of Mechanical Crafters connected to rotational power before tackling the mid-game equipment. - 5
Explore Powered Equipment
With Mechanical Crafters ready, you can build the Exoskeleton Chest Plate for Haste and Strength, the Encased Jet Chest Plate for flight, or the Accelerator Leggings for Speed II and Jump Boost II. All of these consume fuel, so keep Coal, Wood, or Blaze Rods handy.
Early Game: Basic Metal Tools & Armor
Copper Tools & Armor
Copper tools are the weakest tier in this mod, with 131 durability and 5.0 mining speed at harvest level 2 (Iron-tier). They have 3.0 base attack damage and 11 enchantability. While they will not last long, they give you something useful to do with Copper Ingots early on. The Copper armor set provides 15 total armor points (2/5/6/2 for helmet/chest/legs/boots) with 1.0 toughness, putting it slightly above Iron in protective capability.
Zinc Tools & Armor
Zinc tools have better durability at 250 uses but a slower mining speed of 4.0. They deal only 2.0 base attack damage but have 14 enchantability, making them excellent for enchanting. Zinc armor provides the same 15 armor points as Copper (2/5/6/2) but with no toughness and no knockback resistance. The main advantage of Zinc gear is its higher enchantability and durability compared to Copper.
Zinc Tool Recipes

Craft Zinc Handles early and keep a stack on hand. Two Zinc Ingots produce 2 Zinc Handles, and you will need them for both Shadow Steel and Rose Quartz tool recipes. They replace Sticks in those advanced recipes.
Mid Game: Brass Tier & Special Helmets
Brass Tools & Armor
Brass represents a significant upgrade. Brass tools have 450 durability, 8.0 mining speed, harvest level 3 (Diamond-tier), and 14 enchantability. They are crafted on a regular Crafting Table using Brass Ingots and Sticks in standard patterns. Brass armor is the best standard armor set in the mod, with 19 total armor points (3/6/7/3), 1.0 toughness, and 0.1 knockback resistance. The durability multiplier is 32, matching the Exoskeleton and Jetpack tiers.
Andesite Helmet
The
Andesite Helmet is a special helmet crafted from Andesite Alloy and a Redstone Link. When worn, it detects nearby Creepers and highlights them with a glowing effect, giving you advance warning before they can sneak up on you. It provides only 2 armor points for the head slot with no toughness, so it is a utility item rather than a defensive one.
Sticky Helmet
The
Sticky Helmet is crafted from Andesite Alloy, Slime Ball, and Cobblestone. Wearing it lets you stick to ceilings and walk along them. It has very low durability (multiplier of 5) and provides 2 armor points, but the ceiling-walking ability is unique and situationally very powerful for exploring caves and building in tight spaces.
Detector Brass Helmet
The Detector
Brass Helmet combines a Brass Helmet with a Redstone Link, or can be crafted directly from Brass Ingots and a Redstone Link. It retains the Brass armor stats while adding entity detection capabilities.
Special Helmets

Late Game: Advanced Tool Sets
Blazing Tools
Blazing tools are crafted in a Mixer by combining Gold tools with Powdered Obsidian. They have 450 durability, an impressive 12.0 mining speed, and harvest level 3. Their special ability is auto-smelting: mining Stone drops Smooth Stone, mining Logs drops Charcoal, and mining Granite drops the smelted variant. Hitting mobs with Blazing tools sets them on fire. With 2.5 base attack damage, they are not the hardest hitters, but the auto-smelt effect saves enormous amounts of fuel over time.
Rose Quartz (Gilded Quartz) Tools
Rose Quartz tools require Mechanical Crafters and use Polished Rose Quartz, Iron Plates, Gold Ingots, and Zinc Handles. They boast 1644 durability and 9.0 mining speed at harvest level 3. Their 2.0 base attack damage is relatively low, but they make up for it with outstanding durability. These are excellent for long mining sessions where you do not want to return for repairs.
Shadow Steel Tools
Shadow Steel tools are the endgame tier. With 2303 durability, 16.0 mining speed, and 5.0 base attack damage, they outperform every other tool in this mod. Their harvest level is only 2 (Iron-tier), so they cannot mine Obsidian, but their incredible speed and durability more than compensate for most tasks. They also grant experience when breaking blocks, which is a unique bonus. Shadow Steel tools have only 2 enchantability and cannot be repaired normally, so treat them as expendable endgame equipment. They are crafted from Shadow Steel and Zinc Handles.
Despite being the fastest and most durable tools in the mod, Shadow Steel tools have only harvest level 2 (Iron-tier). This means they cannot mine Obsidian or other blocks that require Diamond-tier tools. Keep a Brass or Rose Quartz Pickaxe for those situations.

Powered Equipment
The powered equipment system is the signature feature of Create Stuff 'N Additions. These are armor pieces that consume fuel to grant you powerful effects. All powered equipment stores fuel as an internal NBT tag. To refuel, hold the equipment in your offhand, place your fuel (Coal, Wood, Blaze Rods, etc.) in your main hand, and press Q to drop it. The fuel is consumed and the equipment's fuel counter increases.
Exoskeleton Chest Plate (Brass)
The Exoskeleton is a powered chestplate that grants Haste and Strength effects while worn. It provides 7 armor points in the chest slot with 1.0 toughness and 0.1 knockback resistance. The fuel consumption rate is 1 per tick of use. This is your go-to for mining and combat, giving you faster block breaking and harder hits simultaneously. Requires Mechanical Crafting with Brass Plates, Brass Casings, Precision Mechanisms, Cogwheels, and a Large Cogwheel.
Copper Exoskeleton Chest Plate
A variant that grants Strength II and Mining Fatigue while worn. The trade-off is interesting: you hit much harder but mine more slowly. It shares the same armor stats as the
Brass Exoskeleton (7 chest armor, 1.0 toughness). Best used for combat situations where mining speed does not matter.
Refined Radiance Exoskeleton Chest Plate
The Refined Radiance variant grants Haste II and Weakness. This is a pure mining chestplate, boosting your mining speed significantly at the cost of reduced melee damage. Ideal for extended mining sessions paired with a fast tool like the
Shadow Steel Pickaxe.
Encased Jet Chest Plate
The Encased Jet is the flight chestplate. When worn and fueled, it allows you to fly freely. It provides only 4 armor points in the chest slot but has 2.0 toughness, the highest of any powered armor piece. The fuel consumption rate is 5 per tick, making it the most fuel-hungry equipment in the mod. Keep a large supply of fuel ready when flying. It is crafted with Encased Fans, Brass Casings, Brass Plates, Cogwheels, and a Precision Mechanism.
Accelerator Leggings
The Accelerator Leggings occupy the legs slot and grant Speed II and Jump Boost II, making you extremely fast and able to leap great distances. They provide 6 armor points with 1.0 toughness and 0.1 knockback resistance. Available in Brass, Copper, and Andesite variants, all with a fuel consumption rate of 1. These pair well with any chestplate, letting you run and jump at superhuman speeds.
Powered Equipment Recipes

The mod generates a config file at config/create_stuff_additions/fuel.json where you can adjust fuel consumption rates. Default values: Exoskeleton = 1, Encased Jet = 5, Accelerator = 1, Portable Drill = 1. If you find the Jetpack draining fuel too quickly, lower the Encased Jet value in this file.
Gadgets & Weapons
Brass Portable Drill
The
Brass Portable Drill is a handheld multi-tool with an incredible 30.0 mining speed, the fastest mining tool in the mod by a wide margin. It has harvest level 2 (Iron-tier), 4.0 attack damage in melee, and consumes fuel to operate. Unlike regular tools, it cannot be enchanted. The drill is built with Mechanical Crafters using a
Brass Pickaxe, Brass Sheets, Andesite Alloy, and a Brass Casing. When fuel runs out, the drill stops working, so keep your supply topped up.
Blaze Flame Thrower
The
Blaze Flame Thrower is a ranged weapon that shoots fire projectiles. It has 450 durability and uses Coal as ammunition, consuming one Coal per burst. The projectiles set fire to blocks and mobs on impact, and the weapon produces the Blaze shoot sound effect when fired. Hold right-click to continuously fire, similar to a bow but without needing to charge. It is crafted via Mechanical Crafters using Iron Sheets, Iron Ingots, and a Blaze Burner.
Nozzle Fan
The
Nozzle Fan is a handheld gadget that pushes entities in all directions when held in your main hand. It is a utility item with a stack size of 1 and no durability. Useful for pushing mobs off cliffs, deflecting arrows, or creating space during combat. Crafted from Cogwheels and Encased Fans on a Crafting Table.

Brass Moped
The
Brass Moped is a rideable vehicle entity. Right-click the Brass Moped Item on a block to place it in the world, then right-click the Moped to mount it. It moves at 0.2 base movement speed and has 5 health points. The Moped is immune to most environmental damage sources including drowning, falling, lightning, fire, and Wither effects, but it drops itself as an item when destroyed.
The Tuned
Brass Moped is an upgraded version crafted via a Smithing Table. It doubles the movement speed to 0.4 while keeping the same 5 health and damage immunities. Both versions require Mechanical Crafting for the base Moped item, using Brass Plates, Brass Casings, Precision Mechanisms, Shafts, a Furnace Engine, and Belt Connectors.

Decorative Blocks
Nixie Lamp
The
Nixie Lamp is a decorative light source with light level 15 (maximum brightness). It is directional, waterloggable, and crafted from a Brass Ingot, an Electron Tube, and a Brass Casing. Useful as a compact lighting solution with a mechanical aesthetic.
Refined Radiance Neon
The
Refined Radiance Neon is a thin, glowing tube that emits light level 15. It can be placed along any axis (X, Y, or Z) and is waterloggable. Three Refined Radiance in a row produces 4 Neon blocks. These look excellent as accent lighting in factory builds and along walkways.
Brass Globe & Chocolate Fountain
The
Brass Globe is a purely decorative directional block crafted from a Brass Ingot, a Compass, and a Brass Casing. The
Chocolate Fountain is an interactive decorative block crafted from a Chocolate Bucket, Fluid Pipe, and Item Drain. Right-clicking it triggers an interaction. Both blocks are destroyed when pushed by Pistons.
Quartz Crusher
The
Quartz Crusher is a functional block that damages entities walking over it, emitting light level 4. It is crafted from two Crushing Wheels and a Refined Radiance Casing. Useful as a passive mob farm component or a defensive floor trap.

Configuration
The mod generates a configuration file at config/create_stuff_additions/fuel.json on first launch. This file controls fuel consumption rates for all powered equipment. The default values are: Exoskeleton = 1, Encased Jet = 5, Accelerator = 1, Portable Drill = 1. Lower values mean slower fuel consumption. If you find the Jetpack too expensive to run, reducing its value from 5 to 2 or 3 makes it much more practical for everyday use.
Frequently Asked Questions
What fuel can I use for powered equipment?
Any burnable fuel item works: Coal, Charcoal, Wood planks, Sticks, Blaze Rods, and similar items. Coal and Charcoal are the most practical options since they are easy to produce in bulk with Create's automation.
Can I wear an Exoskeleton and Accelerator Leggings at the same time?
Yes. The Exoskeleton occupies the chestplate slot and the Accelerator Leggings occupy the legs slot. You can wear both simultaneously for Haste, Strength, Speed II, and Jump Boost II all at once. Pair them with a
Brass Helmet and
Brass Boots for maximum armor coverage.
Why can't my Shadow Steel Pickaxe mine Obsidian?
Shadow Steel tools have harvest level 2 (Iron-tier), despite having the highest durability and speed in the mod. This is an intentional trade-off. Use a Brass, Rose Quartz, or
Blazing Pickaxe (all harvest level 3) for Obsidian and similar blocks.
How do I refuel powered equipment?
Hold the equipment in your offhand (press F to swap hands), place your fuel item (Coal, Wood, etc.) in your main hand, and press Q to drop it. The fuel is consumed and the equipment's fuel counter increases. You can see the current fuel level in the item's tooltip.
What is the difference between the three Exoskeleton variants?
The
Brass Exoskeleton gives Haste + Strength (balanced mining and combat). The
Copper Exoskeleton gives Strength II + Mining Fatigue (pure combat focus). The
Refined Radiance Exoskeleton gives Haste II + Weakness (pure mining focus). Choose based on your current activity.
Does the Blaze Flame Thrower use durability or ammo?
Both. The Flame Thrower has 450 durability and consumes Coal as ammunition. Each burst costs 1 durability and 1 Coal. Without Coal in your inventory (unless in Creative mode), the weapon will not fire.
