Ice and Fire: Dragons Mod Guide — Dragons, Mythical Creatures & Legendary Equipment
Ice and Fire: Dragons adds three types of rideable dragons, over a dozen mythical creatures from Greek and Norse mythology, and an entire progression system from Dragon Bone tools to the legendary Dragonsteel tier. With 475+ items and blocks, this mod transforms Minecraft into a fantasy RPG complete with dragon lairs, Myrmex hives, Cyclops caves, and a Dread Lich dimension.
Overview
Ice and Fire: Dragons is one of the most expansive creature mods ever made for Minecraft, adding three types of dragons (Fire, Ice, and Lightning), over a dozen mythical creatures drawn from Greek and Norse mythology, and a deep progression system that takes you from hunting your first Dragon to forging the most powerful equipment in the game. The mod fundamentally changes how you explore the world, as dragons roam the surface and guard treasure-filled caverns underground.
Beyond dragons, you will encounter Hippogryphs soaring over plains, Cyclopes guarding cave lairs, Gorgons that turn you to stone, Sirens luring you into the ocean, Death Worms burrowing through deserts, Sea Serpents patrolling coastlines, and much more. Each creature has unique mechanics, drops, and associated crafting recipes. You can browse the full list of 475+ items and all recipes using the tabs at the top of this page.
The mod requires Citadel as a dependency (version 1.8.1+ for Minecraft 1.16.3). Make sure you have it installed before launching.
Getting Started
- 1
Craft a Bestiary
Your first priority is crafting a
Bestiary. This book serves as your in-game encyclopedia for every creature the mod adds. Right-click it to open the guide, and you will unlock new pages as you discover creatures. You will also need Manuscripts, which can be purchased from the Scribe villager (a new villager profession added by the mod) or crafted. The Bestiary is essential reading before you go hunting. - 2
Find a Dragon Roost or Cavern
Fire Dragons spawn naturally in most habitable biomes, Ice Dragons in cold biomes, and Lightning Dragons appear as nocturnal creatures. Look for scorched terrain (charred blocks), frozen landscapes, or crackled ground to find evidence of a nearby dragon. Dragon Roosts are surface nests surrounded by Gold Piles and treasure, while Dragon Caverns are underground lairs with even more loot. Approach cautiously and bring your best gear.
- 3
Slay Your First Dragon
Dragons start with a base health of 500 HP, but their stats scale with age. An ancient dragon can have thousands of health points. Bring Diamond armor at minimum, plenty of food, a shield, and ranged weapons. Fire Dragons are immune to fire damage, Ice Dragons are immune to frost, and Lightning Dragons resist electricity. Target their weaknesses: Fire Dragons take extra damage from ice-related attacks, and vice versa. Collect Dragon Scales, Dragon Bones, Dragon Blood, and a Dragon Egg from the kill.
- 4
Craft Dragon Bone Equipment
Dragon Bones are your first major upgrade material.
Dragon Bone tools have 1660 durability, 4.0 attack damage bonus, 10.0 mining speed, and harvest level 4, making them significantly better than Diamond. Craft a full set of Dragon Bone tools using Dragon Bones and Wither Bones (dropped from Wither Skeletons or crafted). Dragon Scales can be crafted into Dragon Scale Armor, which provides 5/7/9/5 protection points with 2.0 toughness per piece. - 5
Hatch Your First Dragon
Dragon Eggs found in caverns can be hatched into tame baby dragons. Fire Dragon Eggs must be placed on a block of Fire or near Lava to hatch (takes about 7200 ticks, roughly 6 minutes). Ice Dragon Eggs need to be placed on Ice blocks, where they slowly freeze into an Egg in Ice before hatching. Lightning Dragon Eggs hatch when exposed to rain during a Thunderstorm. Once hatched, the baby dragon is automatically tamed to you.
Dragons transform the terrain around them. Fire Dragons create
Charred Dirt, Charred Grass,
Charred Stone, and
Ash blocks. Ice Dragons leave behind
Frozen Dirt,
Frozen Stone,
Dragon Ice, and
Dragon Ice Spikes. Lightning Dragons produce Crackled blocks. If you see these environmental changes, a dragon is nearby. Do not engage unprepared.
Dragons
The three dragon types are the centerpiece of the mod. All dragons share the same base stats (500 HP, 17 attack damage) but scale dramatically with age. Dragons grow over time, passing through five size stages, and their health and damage increase with each day of age. An ancient dragon encountered in the wild can be an extremely dangerous foe.
Fire Dragons
Fire Dragons are the most common type, spawning across most habitable biomes. They breathe fire that deals 2.0 additional fire damage and transforms terrain into Charred blocks and
Ash. They are completely immune to fire and lava damage. Fire Dragon Scales come in four color variants: Red, Green, Bronze, and Gray. Each color is purely cosmetic and does not affect the dragon's stats.
Ice Dragons
Ice Dragons inhabit cold biomes such as Snowy Tundra, Ice Spikes, and Frozen Oceans. Their breath attack deals 2.5 bonus cold damage and creates Frozen blocks,
Dragon Ice, and
Dragon Ice Spikes in their wake. Ice Dragon Scales come in Blue, White,
Sapphire, and Silver variants. Their eggs have a unique hatching mechanic where the egg must be placed on Ice and will slowly encase itself in an Egg in Ice structure before the baby emerges.
Lightning Dragons
Lightning Dragons are nocturnal predators that deal 3.5 bonus lightning damage with their breath attack, the highest elemental damage of any dragon type. They produce Crackled blocks in their environment. Lightning Dragon Eggs require a Thunderstorm to hatch, making them the hardest to breed early on. Their scales come in Electric,
Amethyst, Copper, and Black variants. Lightning Dragons actually heal from lightning strikes, gaining 15 HP per bolt.
Taming and Riding
You cannot tame wild adult dragons. The only way to get a tame dragon is to find an egg in a Dragon Cavern and hatch it. Once hatched, the baby dragon is automatically bonded to you as its owner. Feed your dragon with
Dragon Meal to accelerate its growth. You can also use
Sickly Dragon Meal (which has negative effects) or
Creative Dragon Meal (which instantly matures the dragon in Creative Mode).
Once your dragon reaches adult size, you can ride it by right-clicking with an empty hand. While mounted, use the dragon-specific keybinds: R to breathe fire/ice/lightning, G to perform a strike attack, X to descend, and F5 to change camera view. You can also equip your dragon with Dragon Armor (crafted from Iron, Gold, Diamond, Silver, or Dragonsteel) for additional protection. The Dragon Staff allows you to command your dragon to guard an area, wander, or follow you. The
Dragon Horn stores and retrieves your dragon as an item for transport.
Dragon Equipment and Materials
Dragon Bone Tools and Weapons
Dragon Bones drop from slain dragons and from Dragon Skeleton structures found in deserts. They serve as the base material for an entire tool tier.
Dragon Bone tools have harvest level 4 (same as Netherite), 1660 durability, 10.0 mining speed, 4.0 base attack damage bonus, and 22 enchantability. This makes them a substantial upgrade over Diamond tools in every category.
Beyond standard tools, you can craft a
Dragon Bone Sword, Dragon Bow (a more powerful bow using Dragonbone Arrows), and three elemental sword variants. The
Flamed Dragon Bone Sword,
Iced Dragon Bone Sword, and
Lightning Dragon Bone Sword each have 2000 durability and 5.5 base attack damage, plus they apply their respective elemental effects on hit. These are crafted by combining a
Dragon Bone Sword with the corresponding Dragon Blood.
Dragon Scale Armor
Dragon Scales dropped from slain dragons can be crafted into Dragon Scale Armor. All 12 color variants share identical stats: a durability multiplier of 36, protection values of 5 (Helmet), 7 (Chestplate), 9 (Leggings), and 5 (Boots) for a total of 26 armor points, 2.0 toughness, and 15 enchantability. The armor also provides the IProtectAgainstDragon effect, reducing damage taken from dragon breath attacks. The color of your armor matches the color of the scales used, but stats are identical regardless of variant.
Dragon Scales can also be crafted into decorative Dragon Scale Blocks in all 12 color variants. These are purely cosmetic building blocks and can be used to create themed builds or display your dragon-slaying achievements.
The Dragonforge and Dragonsteel
Dragonsteel is the ultimate material tier in Ice and Fire, and crafting it requires building a Dragonforge. This is a multiblock structure made of Dragonforge Bricks (Fire, Ice, or Lightning variants), a Dragonforge Core, and a Dragonforge Input block. The forge type must match the dragon type: a Fire Dragonforge only works with Fire Dragons.
To operate the Dragonforge, place an Iron Ingot and the corresponding Dragon Blood into the input slots, then have your tamed dragon breathe on the Dragonforge Bricks to activate the forge. The dragon's breath resets the smelting timer, and after the process completes (approximately 100 ticks), the forge produces a Dragonsteel Ingot.
Fire Dragon Blood produces Fire Dragonsteel,
Ice Dragon Blood produces Ice Dragonsteel, and
Lightning Dragon Blood produces Lightning Dragonsteel.
Dragonsteel tools and armor represent the pinnacle of the mod's progression. With a default base durability of 8000, base attack damage of 25.0 (before the -4.0 modifier applied to tool materials), and harvest level 5, Dragonsteel equipment is vastly superior to any other tier. Dragonsteel armor provides 6/9/12/7 protection points (34 total) with 6.0 toughness per piece, and shares the 8000 base durability.
Tool Material Comparison
| Silver | Copper | Dragon Bone | Myrmex Chitin | Dragonsteel | |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Harvest Level | 2 | 2 | 4 | 3 | 5 |
| Durability | 460 | 300 | 1660 | 600 | 8000 |
| Mining Speed | 11.0 | 0.7 | 10.0 | 6.0 | 10.0 |

Mythical Creatures
Ice and Fire adds a
bestiary's worth of mythical creatures beyond dragons. Each has unique behaviors, drops, and challenges. Here is a breakdown of the major creatures organized by the general danger they pose.
Hippogryphs
Hippogryphs are tameable flying mounts that spawn naturally in plains and similar biomes. They are far easier to obtain than dragons and serve as an excellent early-game flying mount. Tame them by dropping Rabbit Feet near them and waiting for hearts to appear. Once tamed, they can be saddled, equipped with Iron, Gold, or
Diamond Hippogryph Armor, and given a chest for mobile storage. Their talons can be crafted into a Hippogryph Sword with 500 durability and 2.5 bonus attack damage.
Hippocampus
The Hippocampus is a tameable aquatic horse that spawns in ocean biomes. Tame one by feeding it Kelp or Sponge, then ride it through the water at high speed. They can also be equipped with a chest for underwater storage. The
Hippocampus Fin drops on death and can be crafted into a
Hippocampus Slapper, a joke weapon with 500 durability but -2.0 base attack damage and 50 enchantability.
Amphitheres
Amphitheres are feathered serpent creatures that spawn in jungle biomes in groups of 1-3. They are tameable flying mounts, providing an alternative to Hippogryphs. Their feathers can be crafted into Amphithere Arrows (which apply Slowness on hit) and the
Amphithere Macuahuitl, a unique melee weapon. The Amphithere Sword material has 500 durability and 1.0 bonus attack damage.
Pixies
Pixies are tiny fairy creatures found in Pixie Villages (small structures with Pixie Houses made from mushrooms or wood). They drop
Pixie Dust and
Pixie Wings. Pixie Dust can be crafted into an
Ambrosia potion with powerful effects. Pixies can be captured in Glass Jars (crafted as
Jar Empty blocks) and placed as decorative light sources. The
Pixie Wand fires a magic projectile that deals damage.
Jar Pixies emit light and make excellent portable light sources. Craft several empty Glass Jars and capture Pixies whenever you find a Pixie Village. You can also purchase empty Jars from the Scribe villager for 2 Emeralds each.
Gorgons
Gorgons are extremely dangerous creatures found in underground temples. With 100 HP and a stone gaze attack that petrifies players, they can kill instantly if you look at them without protection. Equip a
Blindfold (helmet slot armor) or the Sheep Armor set to protect against their gaze. Defeating a Gorgon drops the Gorgon Head, a powerful weapon that can petrify any mob you point it at. Gorgon temples have a 1 in 16 chance to generate in suitable biomes.
Cyclopes
Cyclopes are towering giants with 150 HP, 15.0 attack damage, and a devastating bite attack dealing 40.0 damage that can instantly kill unarmored players. They spawn in cave lairs (1 in 170 chance per cave) and are hostile on sight. They have 1.0 knockback resistance, meaning you cannot push them back. The Cyclops Eye drops on death and can be used as a crafting ingredient. Defeating one rewards 40 XP.
Sirens
Sirens are aquatic creatures that lure players toward the ocean with a charming song. If you hear music while near a coastline, you are being lured by a Siren. Equip
Earplugs (helmet slot) to become immune to their song. They drop
Shiny Scales and Siren Tears, which can be crafted into a
Siren Flute that charms nearby mobs. Sheep Armor also provides protection against Siren charm effects.
Death Worms
Death Worms burrow through desert biomes and attack anything that moves. They come in three color variants (Yellow, White, and Red) and can grow to enormous sizes. Their base health is 10.0 HP but scales dramatically with size, potentially reaching several hundred HP for giant specimens. They drop Death Worm Chitin (color-matched) which can be crafted into Death Worm Armor with 2/5/7/3 protection and 1.5 toughness. Death Worm Eggs can hatch tame worms, and the Death Worm Gauntlet lets you use a worm's tongue as a grappling hook.
Sea Serpents
Sea Serpents are massive ocean predators with a base health of 20 HP that scales significantly with age. Ancient Sea Serpents are much larger and more dangerous, dropping 30 XP compared to 15 for younger ones. They come in multiple color variants, each dropping matching
Sea Serpent Scales that can be placed as decorative scale blocks. Serpent Fangs drop from kills and are used to craft the
Tide Trident, a throwable weapon similar to the vanilla Trident but with bonus damage. The Sea Serpent Arrow applies a special debuff on hit.
Trolls
Trolls are hostile creatures with 50 HP and 10.0 attack damage that spawn in forests, snowy biomes, and mountains (each with a unique variant). They have full knockback resistance (1.0) and avoid sunlight. Trolls drop Troll Tusks and their respective leather, which can be crafted into Troll Armor with 2/5/7/3 protection and 1.0 toughness. Mountain, Forest, and Frost variants each have their own armor set.
Cockatrices
Cockatrices are hostile chicken-like monsters that spawn in swamp biomes. They have a Wither gaze attack that applies the Wither effect to anything that looks at them. They drop Cockatrice Eyes and Wither Bones. The
Cockatrice Scepter can be crafted from a
Cockatrice Eye and allows you to inflict the Wither gaze on enemies. The
Rotten Egg is a throwable item that spawns a hostile Cockatrice where it lands.
Stymphalian Birds
Stymphalian Birds are aggressive flocking creatures that attack by launching razor-sharp bronze feathers. They spawn in swamp biomes and attack in groups. They drop Stymphalian Bird Feathers, which can be crafted into Stymphalian Arrows (which poison targets), the Stymphalian Feather Bundle (a javelin-like thrown weapon), and the Stymphalian Dagger, a specialized melee weapon.
Myrmex Colonies
Myrmex are giant ant-like creatures that build massive underground hive complexes in desert and jungle biomes. Their hives contain multiple room types: food storage, nurseries, and general rooms, all connected by tunnels coated in Myrmex Resin. The colony is organized into a strict hierarchy of Workers, Soldiers, Sentinels, Royals, Swarmers, and a Queen.
Each Myrmex hive tracks player reputation. If you attack hive members, your reputation drops and the entire colony becomes hostile. You can improve reputation by trading items with them or by using the Myrmex Staff to interact peacefully. A high enough reputation allows you to take Myrmex Eggs from the hive, which can hatch into tame Myrmex that follow your commands.
Myrmex drop Desert or Jungle Chitin depending on their variant, which can be crafted into Myrmex Chitin tools (harvest level 3, 600 durability, 6.0 mining speed) and armor (3/5/8/4 protection). Myrmex Cocoons found in hives contain random loot. The
Myrmex Stinger can be used to add venom to Myrmex swords, creating the Venom variant with a poison effect.
The Dread Lands
The Dread Lich and its army represent some of the most dangerous endgame content in Ice and Fire. Dread Liches spawn in Mausoleum structures and are accompanied by an army of undead Dread creatures: Dread Thralls, Dread Ghouls, Dread Beasts, Dread Scuttlers, Dread Knights riding Dread Horses, and more. All Dread structures are built from near-indestructible Dread Stone blocks (100,000 blast resistance).
The Dread Lich itself wields a Lich Staff and fires homing Dread Lich Skulls. Defeating it drops Dread Shards and the Dread Key. The Dread Queen Sword is a Dragonsteel-tier weapon with the same base damage and durability configuration as Dragonsteel tools. The Dread Portal block hints at a planned dimension feature. Various Dread building blocks (Dread Stone Bricks, Chiseled, Cracked, Mossy, Tiles,
Dreadwood Planks and Logs) can be harvested from Mausoleum structures for building.
Dread Stone blocks have a blast resistance of 100,000 and a hardness of -1.0, making them effectively unbreakable by normal means. Do not attempt to mine into a Mausoleum. Find the entrance and fight your way through instead. These blocks require harvest level 3 (Diamond) to mine at all.
Hydras
The Hydra is a multi-headed boss creature with 250 HP and up to 9 heads. Each head can be temporarily destroyed by dealing 20+ damage to it in a single hit, but the heads regenerate after approximately 100 ticks (5 seconds). The Hydra's breath attack fires toxic projectiles. This is a challenging fight that rewards Hydra Fangs and the
Hydra Heart.
Hydra Fangs are used to craft Hydra Arrows, powerful ammunition with bonus damage. The
Hydra Heart is a consumable item with powerful effects. Both items can also be purchased from the Scribe villager at higher trade levels, with Hydra Fangs costing 12 Emeralds and Serpent Fangs costing 15 Emeralds.
Ghosts
Ghosts are spectral entities with 30 HP and 3.0 attack damage that phase through solid blocks using a custom pathfinding system. They can spawn from Ghost Chests found in graveyards, or naturally in certain biomes. Ghosts are immune to most physical damage types and can only be harmed by magic, fire, suffocation, drowning, falling, wither effects, or direct magic damage. They flee from sunlight during the day.
Ghosts drop
Ectoplasm, which the Scribe villager will buy for Emeralds (6 for 1 Emerald). They also drop Ghost Ingots, a rare material used to craft the Ghost Sword, a powerful weapon with 3000 durability and 5.0 base attack damage bonus. The Ghost Sword fires spectral sword projectiles on use.
Graveyard Soil blocks mark ghost spawn locations and contain buried Ghost Chests.
New Ores and Resources
Ice and Fire adds four new ores to world generation.
Silver Ore spawns at mid-levels and drops Silver Ingots, which can be crafted into Silver tools (460 durability, 11.0 mining speed, harvest level 2) and Silver Armor (1/4/5/2 protection). Silver is particularly effective against certain undead creatures.
Copper Ore provides Copper Ingots for Copper tools (300 durability, 0.7 mining speed) and armor (1/3/4/2 protection), representing an early-game tier below Iron.
Sapphire Ore and
Amethyst Ore are rarer gem ores used primarily for trading with the Scribe villager. Sapphires sell for 2 Emeralds each and Amethysts for 3 Emeralds, making them a reliable source of income. All four ores can also be crafted into decorative storage blocks (
Silver Block,
Copper Block,
Sapphire Block,
Amethyst Block).
Three elemental flowers also generate naturally:
Fire Lily,
Frost Lily, and
Lightning Lily. These are found near dragon territories and can be traded to the Scribe villager. Fire Lilies sell for 1 Emerald per 8, Lightning Lilies for 3 Emeralds per 7, and Frost Lilies can be purchased for 3 Emeralds per 4.
Armor Tier Comparison
| Silver | Death Worm | Myrmex Chitin | Dragon Scale | Dragonsteel | |

The Scribe Villager
Ice and Fire adds the Scribe profession to villagers, using the mod's Lectern block as their workstation. Scribes spawn naturally in villages (the mod adds Scribe buildings to all five village types) and offer a unique trade progression that connects to most of the mod's materials.
At trade level 1, Scribes sell Manuscripts (1 Emerald for 4) and buy basic materials like Bones and
Ash. Level 2 unlocks trades for Silver Ingots, Sapphires, Amethysts, elemental lilies,
Dragon Ice Spikes, empty Jars, and Myrmex Resin. Level 3 offers Dragon Bones, Chains,
Pixie Dust, and Dragon Flesh. Level 4 sells Dragon Bones,
Shiny Scales, Stymphalian Feathers, Troll Tusks, and buys Dread Shards. Level 5, the master tier, sells Serpent Fangs (15 Emeralds for 3), Hydra Fangs (12 Emeralds for 1), and buys
Ectoplasm.
Unique Weapons and Items
Beyond the standard tool and armor tiers, Ice and Fire adds several unique weapons worth highlighting. The
Tide Trident is crafted from Serpent Fangs and functions as a throwable trident with bonus damage. The Gorgon Head, obtained from slaying a Gorgon, can petrify any mob you right-click on, turning them into a
Stone Statue that drops when broken. Chains can be used to tether mobs to Fence posts, and Sticky Chains auto-attach when thrown.
The Death Worm Gauntlet is a unique grappling weapon crafted from Death Worm Tongues, available in three color variants. The
Cockatrice Scepter channels the Wither gaze. Summoning Crystals (Fire, Ice, Lightning) allow you to call your tamed dragon from any distance. And the Cannoli is a food item that references the mod creators' heritage, providing a satisfying snack during your adventures.
Several Banner Patterns are also added, allowing you to customize banners with Ice and Fire themed designs. The
Fishing Spear provides an alternative fishing method. And the
Dragon Debug Stick is a creative-only tool for testing dragon behaviors.
Configuration
Ice and Fire is highly configurable. Nearly every creature can be individually toggled on or off and has adjustable spawn rates. Dragon health (default 500), attack damage (default 17), and egg hatch time (default 7200 ticks) can all be modified. Dragonsteel stats are configurable with dragonsteelBaseDurability (default 8000), dragonsteelBaseDamage (default 25.0), and dragonsteelBaseArmor (default 12). Most creature health and attack values also have config entries: Cyclops (150 HP, 15/40 attack), Troll (50 HP, 10 attack), Hydra (250 HP), Gorgon (100 HP), Ghost (30 HP, 3 attack), and more.
Biome-specific spawn configurations allow you to control exactly which biomes each creature appears in. Dragon target search length (default 128 blocks) and gold search length (default 30 blocks) affect how aggressively dragons hunt and hoard. If dragons are too dangerous for your playstyle, consider reducing dragonAttackDamage and dragonHealth in the config.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I hatch a Dragon Egg?
It depends on the dragon type. Fire Dragon Eggs must be placed on or adjacent to Fire or Lava blocks. Ice Dragon Eggs need to be placed on Ice blocks, where they will slowly freeze over. Lightning Dragon Eggs require being left outside during a Thunderstorm. All eggs take approximately 7200 ticks (about 6 minutes of real time) to hatch, though Ice eggs have a random element to their timing.
Can I tame a wild adult dragon?
No. Wild adult dragons cannot be tamed through any normal means. You must find a Dragon Egg in a Dragon Cavern and hatch it. The baby dragon will be automatically tamed to the player who placed the egg.
Creative Dragon Meal can instantly tame and mature dragons, but this is a Creative Mode only item.
How do I protect against the Gorgon's stone gaze?
Equip a
Blindfold in your helmet slot before entering the Gorgon's temple. The Blindfold completely prevents the petrification effect. Alternatively, wearing a full set of Sheep Armor also provides protection. Without either of these, looking at a Gorgon will turn you to stone, which is instantly fatal.
What is the best armor in Ice and Fire?
Dragonsteel Armor is the strongest, with 34 total armor points and 6.0 toughness per piece. However, it requires building a Dragonforge and having a tamed dragon to operate it. Dragon Scale Armor (26 total armor points, 2.0 toughness) is the best readily obtainable armor from dragon kills and provides elemental protection against dragon breath. Both are significantly better than vanilla Netherite.
How does the Dragonforge work?
Build a multiblock structure using Dragonforge Bricks, a Dragonforge Core, and a Dragonforge Input block. The bricks, core, and input must all match the same element (Fire, Ice, or Lightning). Place an Iron Ingot and the matching Dragon Blood into the input slots. Then command your tamed dragon of the corresponding type to breathe fire/ice/lightning on the Dragonforge Bricks to activate the smelting process. After approximately 100 ticks, a Dragonsteel Ingot appears in the output slot.
Why is my dragon not attacking?
Check your dragon's command state using the Dragon Staff. Dragons can be set to wander, guard, or follow modes. In guard mode, they only attack things that enter their territory. Also ensure your dragon is not sitting (right-click to toggle). While riding, use the R key (default) to trigger breath attacks and G for strike attacks. The Dragon Flute can also be used to halt attacks if your dragon is being overly aggressive.
