Moog's End Structures

80+ structures made with vanilla blocks and entities bringing life to your world!

Moog's End Structures Guide: Every Structure, Mega Ship & Hidden Location

Moog's End Structures transforms the barren End dimension into a land worth exploring by scattering over 80 hand-built structures across its islands. From colossal Mega Ships guarded by Shulkers to serene gardens and mysterious shrines, every outer End island now holds something to discover. All structures use vanilla blocks and entities, so they blend seamlessly into any modpack.

Overview

Moog's End Structures (MES) adds over 80 handcrafted structures to the End dimension, turning what was once a desolate void into a rewarding exploration experience. The mod covers everything from massive floating warships and towering citadels to peaceful groves and small environmental details like ruined pillars and meteorite craters. Every structure is built entirely from vanilla blocks and populated with vanilla entities, meaning there are no new items or blocks to learn. The mod is purely about making the End worth visiting after defeating the Ender Dragon.

All structures generate on the outer End islands, at least 1,000 blocks away from the central island where the Ender Dragon fight takes place. This means you will need to find and throw an Ender Pearl into an End Gateway portal (the small portals that appear after killing the Dragon) to reach the outer islands before you encounter any MES content. Once there, exploration is the entire gameplay loop: fly with Elytra or bridge between islands to discover ships, towers, gardens, and more.

You can browse all the structures and their details using the tabs on this page. The sections below walk you through what to expect, organized by structure type and difficulty.

Getting Started

  1. 1

    Defeat the Ender Dragon

All MES structures spawn on the outer End islands, which are only accessible after defeating the Ender Dragon. Prepare your best gear and take down the Dragon as you normally would. After the Dragon dies, End Gateway portals will begin appearing around the central island.

  2. 2

Travel to the Outer End Islands

Locate one of the small End Gateway portals (the floating Bedrock frames with a purple beam) and throw an Ender Pearl through it. This teleports you to the outer End islands, which is where every MES structure generates. The structures require a minimum distance of 1,000 blocks from the world origin, so you will not find them near the main island.

  3. 3

    Gear Up for Exploration

Bring an Elytra and plenty of Firework Rockets for flight. Several structures, particularly the Mega Ships, float above the islands and are difficult or impossible to reach by bridging. Pack a good sword and armor because Shulkers and Endermen guard many of the larger structures. Ender Pearls are also useful for quick vertical movement.

  4. 4

    Start Exploring the Islands

Fly between the outer End islands and keep an eye out for new structures. Small decorations like Ruined Pillars and Endscraps appear frequently, while major structures like the Phantom Citadel and Enderwatch Tower are rarer. The Mega Ships are the most spread out, with spacing of 70-88 chunks between them, so expect to travel significant distances.

  5. 5

    Loot Structures and Farm Shulkers

The Mega Ships are the primary source of loot and Shulker Shells in the mod. They spawn Shulkers as part of their structure, making them excellent Shulker farming locations. Some structures also contain Brewing Stands pre-stocked with random potions. Explore each structure thoroughly as rooms and hallways often contain hidden chests and spawners.

Vanilla Only

This mod does not add any new items, blocks, mobs, or crafting recipes. Everything you encounter inside MES structures is built from vanilla Minecraft blocks and populated with vanilla entities like Shulkers and Endermen. The mod focuses entirely on world generation.

Mega Ships

The Mega Ships are the mod's flagship structures, literally. These are enormous multi-section vessels that float above or crash into the End islands. There are eight distinct variants divided into three visual categories, and they represent the best exploration and loot content in the mod.

Standard Mega Ships

The standard Mega Ship and Mega Ship Basic are intact floating vessels built from End Stone and Purpur blocks. They hover above the islands at heights between Y 30 and Y 70, with the Basic variant allowing heights up to Y 70. Both are assembled from multiple jigsaw pieces including a main hull, middle sections, side extensions, and end caps. The standard Mega Ship has a chunk spacing of 77 with a separation of 15, making it moderately rare. The Basic variant is much rarer with a spacing of 80 and separation of 60.

The Mega Ship Basic spawns both Shulkers (2-3 per spawn attempt) and Endermen (3-5 per spawn attempt) within its structure bounds. The standard Mega Ship spawns only Shulkers. Both are excellent sources of Shulker Shells for crafting Shulker Boxes.

Deepslate Mega Ships

Three Deepslate variants exist, each using dark Deepslate blocks for a more imposing appearance. The Deepslate Mega Ship, Deepslate Mega Ship 2, and Deepslate Mega Ship 3 are progressively more complex, with sizes of 1, 3, and 4 jigsaw sections respectively. They are the rarest structures in the mod, with chunk spacings of 82 to 88. All three spawn both Shulkers and Endermen, and they float between Y 30 and Y 70 above the islands.

Crashed Mega Ships

Three crashed variants sit embedded in the End island terrain rather than floating above it. The Crashed Mega Ship, Crashed Mega Ship 2, and Crashed Deepslate Mega Ship use terrain adaptation to partially bury themselves into the landscape, creating the impression of a shipwreck. They use "beard_thin" terrain adaptation, which blends their foundations into the surrounding terrain. Crashed ships all spawn Shulkers within their bounds, with the Crashed Deepslate variant spawning 1-2 rather than the usual 2-3.

Shulker Farming

Mega Ships are the best source of Shulker Shells in a world with MES installed. Each ship spawns 2-3 Shulkers within its structure bounds, and because there are eight ship variants spread across the End, you can collect a large number of shells by visiting multiple ships. Bring a Looting III Sword to maximize your Shell drops.

Major Structures

Beyond the Mega Ships, MES adds a variety of large, themed structures that bring character and atmosphere to the outer End islands. These are the landmarks you will use to navigate the dimension and the destinations that make exploration feel rewarding.

Phantom Citadel

A towering fortress that rises above the End islands, the Phantom Citadel is one of the rarer major structures with a spacing of 35 chunks and separation of 20. It generates at a fixed height offset of Y 24 above the terrain and requires relatively flat ground (maximum 4 blocks of height variation within its footprint). This is one of the most visually striking structures in the mod, serving as a dramatic centerpiece for any End island it appears on.

Enderwatch Tower

A tall watchtower structure that uses terrain beard adaptation to blend into the island surface. It has a spacing of 30 chunks and separation of 12, making it one of the more commonly encountered major structures. The tower sits at surface level and requires only 4 blocks of terrain height variation, so it tends to generate on flatter areas of the End islands.

Starlight Voyager

A floating structure that generates between Y 20 and Y 65 using a uniform random height distribution. Like the Phantom Citadel, it has a spacing of 35 chunks and separation of 20. The Starlight Voyager does not use terrain adaptation, meaning it hovers freely above the landscape, similar to the Mega Ships but with a different architectural style.

Enderkeep Courtyard

A large courtyard complex with a wider terrain check radius of 2 chunks (compared to the standard 1 chunk for most structures) and allows up to 5 blocks of height variation. This wider check means it needs a broader flat area to generate, which makes it somewhat less common in practice. It has a spacing of 25 chunks and separation of 20, placing it among the mid-rarity structures.

Monolith

A mysterious structure that comes in three random variants. The Monolith has a spacing of 35 chunks and separation of 20, putting it in the same rarity tier as the Phantom Citadel and Starlight Voyager. Each variant presents a different visual interpretation of the monolith concept, adding variety to repeated encounters.

Nature Structures

Several structures add natural beauty to the End, transforming it from a monotone wasteland into a dimension with pockets of unique vegetation and terrain.

Enderbloom Grove

A garden-like grove that brings a splash of life to the pale End islands. It generates at surface level with beard thin terrain adaptation, blending naturally into the surrounding End Stone. With a spacing of 25 chunks and separation of 15, groves appear fairly regularly across the outer islands.

Enderskog

The name comes from the Scandinavian word for "forest," and the Enderskog delivers exactly that: a cluster of End-themed vegetation. It shares the same spacing (25 chunks) and separation (15) as the Enderbloom Grove, and also uses beard thin terrain adaptation. Where the grove is more of a curated garden, the Enderskog feels like a wild, overgrown patch of the End.

Mythic Garden

A more elaborate garden structure with a spacing of 25 chunks and separation of 20, making it slightly rarer than the Enderbloom Grove. The Mythic Garden uses beard thin adaptation and requires only 3 blocks of height variation, so it sits cleanly on the End island surface.

Placid Prairie

A wide, open structure that comes in two variants. Unlike most structures, the Placid Prairie does not use terrain adaptation and instead generates at a random height between Y 8 and Y 56. This means it can sometimes appear partially embedded in or floating slightly above the terrain, giving each instance a unique feel. It has a spacing of 25 chunks and separation of 15.

Watch Your Step in the End

Many MES structures generate near the edges of End islands or float above the void. Always carry an Elytra and Firework Rockets as a safety net. Falling into the void is instant death and you will lose all your items. If you are exploring without Elytra, bring plenty of blocks for bridging and Ender Pearls for emergency saves.

Smaller Structures & Shrines

Manuscript Shrine

A small shrine structure with a spacing of 25 chunks and separation of 15. It uses beard thin terrain adaptation and requires very flat terrain (only 3 blocks of height variation). The Manuscript Shrine serves as a point of interest during exploration, giving the End the feel of having its own ancient civilization.

Astral Hideaway

A hidden shelter structure with the same spacing and separation as the Manuscript Shrine (25/15). It blends into the terrain with beard thin adaptation. The Astral Hideaway feels like a cozy refuge in the otherwise harsh End environment.

Decorations

In addition to the major and mid-sized structures, MES scatters numerous small decorative elements across the End islands. These are not destinations in themselves, but they fill the spaces between larger structures and make the dimension feel alive and varied.

Ruined Pillars

The most common decoration, with a spacing of only 10 chunks and separation of 7. Three variants exist, each depicting a crumbling column rising from the End Stone. You will see these everywhere on the outer islands, giving the dimension an atmosphere of ancient ruins.

Enderpin Spikes

Sharp, crystalline spike formations with two variants. They have a spacing of 13 chunks and separation of 8, making them the second most frequent decoration. Unlike most structures, they generate at a fixed height offset of Y 4 above the terrain with no terrain adaptation, so they protrude upward from the island surface.

Other Decorations

Endscraps come in four variants and represent scattered debris across the islands. The Ender Spire is a single tall spire formation. The Astral Meteorite appears as a crater or impact site. All three share a spacing of 25 chunks and separation of 15, and use beard thin terrain adaptation to sit naturally on the landscape.

Brewing Stands and Potions

Some structures contain Brewing Stands that are pre-stocked with random potions when the structure generates. The mod includes a custom processor that gives each Brewing Stand a chance to contain 1 to 3 potions selected randomly from Regeneration, Swiftness, Fire Resistance, Healing, Night Vision, and Strength. This is a nice bonus during exploration, especially early in the End when you may not have brought many supplies.

Technical Details

MES uses a custom placement system called Advanced Random Spread that extends Minecraft's built-in random spread placement. The key addition is the "min_distance_from_world_origin" parameter, which ensures all structures spawn at least 1,000 blocks from the center of the End (coordinates 0,0). This prevents structures from interfering with the Ender Dragon fight arena and the central End island.

All structures use MES's custom Generic Jigsaw Structure type, which provides terrain height checking, biome validation, Y-range clamping, and multiple terrain burial modes (lowest corner, average land, and lowest side). These features ensure structures generate cleanly on the uneven End terrain without floating awkwardly or clipping into the ground. The "terrain_height_radius_check" parameter controls how many surrounding chunks are sampled for height variation, and "allowed_terrain_height_range" determines the maximum height difference allowed across the check radius.

The mod also includes a waterlogging fix processor that corrects blocks that might become incorrectly waterlogged during structure placement. This ensures that structures built over void or near water features display correctly.

Complete Structure List

The mod adds 24 unique structure types in total, many with multiple NBT variants for visual variety. Across all variants, there are 65 individual structure piece files. The structures break down as follows: 8 Mega Ship types (standard, basic, 3 deepslate, and 3 crashed), 7 major structures (Phantom Citadel, Enderwatch Tower, Starlight Voyager, Enderkeep Courtyard, Monolith, Manuscript Shrine, and Astral Hideaway), 4 nature structures (Enderbloom Grove, Enderskog, Mythic Garden, and Placid Prairie), and 5 decoration types (Ruined Pillar, Enderpin Spikes, Endscraps, Ender Spire, and Astral Meteorite).

Frequently Asked Questions

Do MES structures spawn on the main End island?

No. All structures have a minimum distance of 1,000 blocks from the world origin. They only generate on the outer End islands that you reach through End Gateway portals after defeating the Ender Dragon.

Does this mod add any new items, blocks, or mobs?

No. Moog's End Structures uses only vanilla blocks and entities. Structures are built from End Stone, Purpur, Deepslate, and other existing blocks. Mobs like Shulkers and Endermen are vanilla spawns configured through the structure definitions.

Will MES structures generate in existing worlds?

Yes, but only in chunks that have not been generated yet. If you have already explored the outer End islands, new structures will only appear in unexplored areas. For the best experience, install the mod before entering the End, or travel to areas of the End you have not visited before.

Is MES compatible with other End structure mods?

Generally yes. MES uses standard Minecraft worldgen systems and biome tags that include both Forge and Fabric End biome conventions. Structures from other mods may occasionally overlap with MES structures in rare cases, but this is cosmetic and does not cause crashes or errors.

How do I find a specific structure?

Use the /locate command with the structure's registry name. For example: /locate structure mes:phantom_citadel or /locate structure mes:mega_ship_deepslate_2. You need operator permissions or cheats enabled to use this command. The full list of structure names matches the file names in the mod's data (e.g., mes:enderwatch_tower, mes:astral_hideaway, mes:enderbloom_grove).

Can I adjust how often structures spawn?

The mod does not include an in-game config file. However, you can create a data pack that overrides the structure set JSON files in data/mes/worldgen/structure_set/. Modify the "spacing" value (higher = rarer) and "separation" value (minimum distance between instances) to control spawn rates. You can also remove a structure set file entirely to disable that structure.
