Mystical Agradditions Mod Guide: Tier 6 Crops, Insanium & Paxels
Mystical Agradditions extends Mystical Agriculture with powerful Tier 6 crops that let you grow Nether Stars, Dragon Eggs, and more. It also adds Paxel multi-tools, Insanium Essence materials, Tinkers' Construct integration, and new mob drops from the Wither and Ender Dragon.
Overview
Mystical Agradditions is an addon for Mystical Agriculture that pushes the crop farming system beyond Tier 5 Supremium into Tier 6 territory. Where the base mod lets you grow resources like Diamond, Iron, and Redstone, this addon introduces crops for some of the rarest and most difficult-to-obtain items in modded Minecraft: Nether Stars, Dragon Eggs, Awakened Draconium, and Neutronium.
The mod introduces Insanium Essence as its core new material tier, sitting above Supremium. Along with the Tier 6 crop system, you get Paxel multi-tools for every Mystical Agriculture tier, new mob drops from the Wither and Ender Dragon, storage blocks for Insanium, and full Tinkers' Construct integration with custom materials and traits. You can browse all items and recipes this mod adds using the tabs at the top of this page.
Prerequisites
Mystical Agradditions requires Mystical Agriculture as its base mod. Before you can engage with any Tier 6 content, you need to have progressed through the base mod's five essence tiers: Inferium, Prudentium, Intermedium, Superium, and Supremium. At minimum, you should have a working Supremium Essence farm and access to Supremium Ingots, since Insanium (the Tier 6 material) is crafted from Supremium components.
Two of the four Tier 6 crop types also require cross-mod dependencies.
Awakened Draconium Seeds require Draconic Evolution to be installed, and
Neutronium Seeds require Avaritia. Nether Star and Dragon Egg crops work with just the base Mystical Agriculture mod.
Getting Started with Mystical Agradditions
- 1
Gather Withering Souls and Dragon Scales
Before crafting any Tier 6 seeds, you need special mob drops. Kill Withers to obtain Withering Souls (35% drop chance by default) and kill Ender Dragons to collect Dragon Scales (8 dropped per kill by default). These are essential crafting ingredients for the special farmland blocks that Tier 6 crops require.
- 2
Craft Insanium Essence
Insanium Essence is the Tier 6 crafting material. You can craft it by combining a Supremium Ingot with two Insanium Essences in a shapeless recipe (or in a shaped cross pattern if the "harder ingots" config is enabled). You will need
Insanium Essence in large quantities for seeds and farmland blocks, so start stockpiling early. - 3
Build the Special Farmland Block
Each Tier 6 crop type requires its own specific farmland block placed two blocks below the crop (with regular Farmland directly beneath it). For example, the Nether Star Crux requires Supremium Essence, Nether Stars, Diamond Blocks, and Withering Souls. Craft the appropriate block for the crop you want to grow.
- 4
Craft Your Tier 6 Seeds
All Tier 6 seeds follow the same crafting pattern: Insanium Essence in a ring around an
Insanium Crafting Seed, with the crop's target material in the four corners. For
Nether Star Seeds, the corners use Nether Stars. For
Dragon Egg Seeds, the corners use Dragon Scales. Once crafted, plant the seed on Farmland with the correct Crux block two blocks below. - 5
Set Up Your Tier 6 Farm
Place your Crux block, then Farmland on top of it, then plant the seed on the Farmland. The crop needs light level 9 or higher to grow. Note that Tier 6 crops cannot be fertilized with Fertilized Essence or Mystical Fertilizer by default (this is configurable). Growth will be slow, so plant multiple rows and be patient.
Tier 6 crops will not grow if the correct Crux block is not exactly two blocks below them. The structure must be: Crux → Farmland → Crop. If the Crux is missing or in the wrong position, the crop will remain at its current growth stage and cannot be bone-mealed.
Insanium: The Tier 6 Material
Insanium is the material tier that sits above Supremium in the Mystical Agriculture hierarchy. Unlike the base mod's five tiers which are obtained through combining lower-tier essences, Insanium is crafted by combining
Insanium Essence with Supremium Ingots. The Insanium material system includes several forms: Insanium Essence (the raw material), Insanium Ingots, Insanium Nuggets, Insanium Mob Chunks, and optionally
Insanium Coal.
Insanium Ingots
Insanium Ingots are crafted from
Insanium Essence combined with a Supremium Ingot. With the "harder ingots" configuration enabled, the recipe requires four Insanium Essences arranged in a plus pattern around the Supremium Ingot. With harder ingots disabled, it is a simple shapeless recipe using one Supremium Ingot and two Insanium Essences. Insanium Ingots are used to craft Paxel tools and Insanium storage blocks.
Insanium Coal
When the Essence Coal config option is enabled in the base mod, Insanium Coal becomes available. A single piece of
Insanium Coal has a burn time of 76,800 ticks (48x the burn time of regular Coal), and a Block of Insanium Coal burns for 691,200 ticks. These are extremely efficient fuel sources for large-scale smelting operations.
Storage Blocks
Three types of Insanium storage blocks are available: the
Insanium Essence Block (9 Insanium Essences), the
Insanium Ingot Block (9 Insanium Ingots), and the
Insanium Coal Block (9 Insanium Coal). All can be crafted and uncrafted using standard 9-to-1 and 1-to-9 patterns. The Insanium Essence Block is also used in upgrading the Tinkering Table.
Tier 6 Crops
The headline feature of Mystical Agradditions is four new Tier 6 crop types that let you farm some of the most valuable resources in modded Minecraft. Each crop requires its own dedicated Crux block placed two blocks below the Farmland. When fully grown and harvested, these crops drop their respective essence, which can then be crafted into the target resource using a 3x3 grid of essences.
Nether Star Seeds
Nether Star Seeds grow
Nether Star Essence, which is crafted into Nether Star Shards (9 essences = 1 shard). Three Nether Star Shards combine into a full Nether Star. The Nether Star Crux requires Supremium Essence, Nether Stars, Diamond Blocks, and Withering Souls. This crop effectively lets you farm Nether Stars without repeatedly fighting the Wither.
Dragon Egg Seeds
Dragon Egg Seeds grow
Dragon Egg Essence, which crafts into Dragon Egg Chunks (9 essences = 1 chunk). Three chunks combine into a Dragon Egg. The Dragon Egg Crux requires Supremium Essence, Dragon Scales, and Diamond Blocks. Dragon Scales are obtained by killing the Ender Dragon (8 per kill by default), making the initial setup require at least one Dragon fight.
Awakened Draconium Seeds (Requires Draconic Evolution)
Only available when Draconic Evolution is installed,
Awakened Draconium Seeds produce essence that crafts into Awakened Draconium Nuggets (9 essences = 3 nuggets). The Awakened Draconium Crux requires Supremium Essence, Awakened Draconium Ingots, Awakened Draconium Blocks, Diamond Blocks, and a Draconic Heart (dropped by the Chaos Guardian). This is one of the most expensive crops to set up but provides a renewable source of Awakened Draconium.
Neutronium Seeds (Requires Avaritia)
Only available when Avaritia is installed,
Neutronium Seeds produce essence that crafts into Cosmic Neutronium Nuggets (9 essences = 3 nuggets). The Neutronium Crux requires Supremium Essence, Cosmic Neutronium Ingots, and Diamond Blocks. This provides an alternative path to obtaining Neutronium for Avaritia's endgame crafting.
Tier 6 Inferium Seeds
Beyond the four resource crops, Mystical Agradditions adds Tier 6 Inferium Seeds. These are an upgraded version of the base mod's Inferium crop that produces significantly more Inferium Essence per harvest: 6 essence per harvest normally, with a chance for 7. This makes them the most efficient way to farm Inferium for players who have reached the Insanium tier. The seeds are crafted by surrounding Tier 5 Inferium Seeds with 8 Insanium Essences.
Mob Drops
Withering Souls
Withers now have a chance to drop a Withering Soul on death. The default drop chance is 35%, configurable from 0% to 100%. Withering Souls are required to craft the Nether Star Crux block. Plan to kill at least a few Withers before you can set up your Nether Star farm.
Dragon Scales
The Ender Dragon drops Dragon Scales on death. By default, 8 Dragon Scales drop per kill, configurable from 0 to 64. Dragon Scales are needed for the Dragon Egg Crux block and for crafting
Dragon Egg Seeds (placed in the corner slots of the seed recipe).
The mod includes a Creative Essence item (metadata 69) that is enabled by default but has no recipe or use in survival mode. It exists as a placeholder for modpack makers who want to assign it a custom recipe and purpose. If you see it in JEI, don't worry about obtaining it in a normal playthrough.
Paxel Multi-Tools
Mystical Agradditions adds Paxels for every tier of Mystical Agriculture material. A Paxel combines the functionality of a Pickaxe, Axe, and Shovel into a single tool that can mine any block type. Each Paxel is crafted by combining its tier's Axe, Pickaxe, and Shovel together with two of the matching tier's crafting material.
Paxels have 1.5x the durability of their tier's base tools, making them very durable. They inherit the harvest level, attack damage (4.0 base), and mining speed of their material tier. The five available Paxels are Inferium, Prudentium, Intermedium, Superium, and Supremium. Paxels are only available when the Gear Module is enabled in Mystical Agriculture's config.
Mining AOE Charm
The
Supremium Paxel has a unique Charm Slot that can hold the Mining AOE Charm. When equipped, this charm gives the Paxel a 3x3 mining area, breaking all blocks in a plane around the targeted block. The tradeoff is a reduction of 15.0 in mining speed while the charm is active. The Mining AOE Charm is crafted using a Supremium Paxel, Superium Essence, a Blank Charm, and Supremium Ingots. The charm can be applied via the Tinkering Table.
Tinkering Table
The Tier 6 Tinkering Table is an upgraded version of the base mod's Tinkering Table, crafted using Soulstone, Insanium Essence, and other materials. This table is used to apply the Mining AOE Charm to the
Supremium Paxel, enabling its 3x3 area mining ability. See the Recipes tab for the full crafting recipe.
Tinkers' Construct Integration
When Tinkers' Construct is installed, Mystical Agradditions registers all Mystical Agriculture materials as Tinkers' materials with full smeltery support. This means you can melt down essence ingots into molten fluids and cast them into tool parts. The integration covers Prosperity, Soulium, Base Essence, Inferium, Prudentium, Intermedium, Superium, and Supremium.
Custom Traits
The Tinkers' integration adds two custom traits. The Prosperous trait (applied to all essence materials) gives a 0.33% chance per block broken or mob killed to drop a Prosperity Shard. The Chunky trait (Soulium head only) causes mobs to drop their corresponding Mob Chunks on death, effectively replicating the Mob Chunk drop mechanic on any Tinkers' tool with a Soulium head. Prosperity material parts also receive the Writable II trait on head parts.

The Tinkers' Construct integration can be toggled off in the Mystical Agradditions config file under Settings → tconstruct_support. If you are using both mods but prefer to keep their material systems separate, set this to false.
Configuration Options
Mystical Agradditions provides several configuration options that significantly affect gameplay. All options are found in the mod's config file.
Under Settings: "fertilizable_crops" controls whether Tier 6 crops can be fertilized with Fertilized Essence and Mystical Fertilizer (default: false). "tconstruct_support" enables or disables the full Tinkers' Construct integration (default: true). "creative_essence" enables the Creative Essence item (default: true). "wither_souls_chance" sets the Withering Soul drop percentage from Withers (default: 35%, range 0-100). "dragon_scales_amount" sets how many Dragon Scales drop per Ender Dragon kill (default: 8, range 0-64).
Under Seeds: Each of the four Tier 6 crop types can be individually enabled or disabled. "nether_star_seeds", "dragon_egg_seeds", "awakened_draconium_seeds", and "neutronium_seeds" are all enabled by default. Disabling a seed type also removes its corresponding Crux block from the creative tab and JEI.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do Tier 6 crops work with Agricraft or growth accelerators?
Tier 6 crops use a custom crop block class (BlockTier6Crop) that extends Mystical Agriculture's BlockMysticalCrop. They follow the same growth mechanics as other Mystical Agriculture crops, so most growth accelerators that work with the base mod should also work with Tier 6 crops. However, Fertilized Essence and Mystical Fertilizer are blocked by default unless the config option is enabled.
How do I get Withering Souls?
Withering Souls drop from the Wither boss with a default 35% chance. This chance is configurable in the mod's config file under "wither_souls_chance". You will need at least two Withering Souls to craft a Nether Star Crux block.
Why won't my Awakened Draconium or Neutronium crops appear?
Awakened Draconium Seeds require Draconic Evolution to be installed, and
Neutronium Seeds require Avaritia. If these mods are not present, the corresponding seeds, crops, and Crux blocks will not register at all. Check that the required mods are installed and that the seed types are not disabled in the config.
What is the Insanium Crafting Seed?
The Insanium Crafting Seed is the Tier 6 equivalent of the crafting seeds from the base mod. It is used as the center item in all Tier 6 seed recipes. You craft it using
Insanium Essence with an Infusion Crystal on a crafting table.
Can I use Paxels without the Mystical Agriculture Gear Module?
No. Paxels and the Mining AOE Charm are only registered when the Gear Module is enabled in Mystical Agriculture's configuration (confGearModuleOverride). If the Gear Module is disabled, these items will not appear in the game at all.
How many essences does it take to get one Nether Star?
It takes 9 Nether Star Essences to craft 1 Nether Star Shard, and 3 Nether Star Shards to craft 1 Nether Star. That means you need 27 Nether Star Essences total per Nether Star. Since each harvest gives 1-2 essences, plan for roughly 14-27 harvests per Nether Star.
