RS Infinity Booster Guide: Unlimited Wireless Range for Refined Storage

RS Infinity Booster is an addon for Refined Storage that removes wireless range limitations. It adds two upgrade cards: the Infinity Card for unlimited range within your current dimension, and the Dimension Card for cross-dimension wireless access. Essential for any player tired of staying near their base to manage storage.

Overview

RS Infinity Booster is a small but powerful addon for Refined Storage that solves one of the mod's biggest limitations: wireless range. By default, Refined Storage's Wireless Transmitter has a finite range that can only be extended so far with Range Upgrades. This addon adds two new upgrade cards that slot directly into your Wireless Transmitter, giving you unlimited reach.

The mod adds exactly two items: the Infinity Card, which grants infinite range within your current dimension, and the Dimension Card, which extends that access across all dimensions. Both cards are placed into the upgrade slots of your Wireless Transmitter just like regular Range Upgrades. You can browse both items and their crafting recipes using the tabs above.

Prerequisites

RS Infinity Booster is an addon for Refined Storage. You need a working Refined Storage network before these cards become useful. At minimum, you'll need a Controller, a Wireless Transmitter placed on your network, and a Wireless Grid or Wireless Crafting Monitor to actually use the wireless functionality. You should already understand how to set up a basic Refined Storage network and how the Wireless Transmitter works with Range Upgrades.

The mod also has optional compatibility with Reborn Storage. If you have Reborn Storage installed, the Infinity Card and Dimension Card will work with its Advanced Wireless Transmitter as well.

Expensive Recipes

Both cards require endgame materials like Nether Stars and Netherite Ingots. Plan to have a Wither farm or at least access to the Nether before attempting to craft these. The Infinity Card alone requires three Netherite Ingots and a Nether Star.

Getting Started

  1. 1

Set Up Your Refined Storage Network

Before you can use either card, you need a functioning Refined Storage network with a Controller, storage, and a Wireless Transmitter. Place the Wireless Transmitter on a cable connected to your network. It should show as active in your network.

  2. 2

Gather Materials for the Infinity Card

You'll need 2 Ender Eyes, 3 Range Upgrades (from Refined Storage), 1 Nether Star, and 3 Netherite Ingots. The Range Upgrades are crafted within Refined Storage itself, so make sure you have Quartz Enriched Iron available.

  3. 3

    Craft the Infinity Card

Arrange the materials on a Crafting Table: Ender Eyes and Range Upgrades alternate across the top two rows with a Nether Star in the center, and three Netherite Ingots fill the bottom row. This gives you the Infinity Card.

  4. 4

    Install the Infinity Card

Open your Wireless Transmitter's GUI and place the Infinity Card into one of its upgrade slots. The transmitter's range will immediately change to unlimited within your current dimension. You can now use your Wireless Grid from anywhere in that dimension.

  5. 5

    Upgrade to Cross-Dimension Access (Optional)

If you want to access your storage from the Nether, the End, or any modded dimension, craft the Dimension Card. This requires 4 Infinity Cards, 4 Nether Stars, and 1 Ender Eye. Place it in the Wireless Transmitter alongside the Infinity Card for full cross-dimension wireless access.

The Infinity Card

The Infinity Card is a special upgrade that extends the Refined Storage Wireless Transmitter's range to the maximum possible value (2,147,483,647 blocks, effectively infinite). It functions as a Range Upgrade type item, meaning it slots into the same upgrade slots that regular Range Upgrades use. Unlike stacking multiple Range Upgrades, a single Infinity Card gives you complete coverage of your entire dimension instantly.

The card has a default energy cost of 4,000 FE/t on top of the Wireless Transmitter's base usage. This is configurable in the server config file, so server administrators can adjust the power requirement to balance it for their pack. Make sure your Refined Storage network has enough power generation to handle the increased energy draw.

The Dimension Card

The Dimension Card takes wireless access one step further by enabling cross-dimension connectivity. With this card installed in your Wireless Transmitter, you can access your Refined Storage network from the Nether, the End, or any modded dimension. This is incredibly useful for long mining trips in the Nether or extended exploration in other dimensions where you'd normally be cut off from your base.

The Dimension Card is not a standard Refined Storage Range Upgrade type. Instead, the mod uses a mixin to patch the Wireless Transmitter's upgrade validator so it accepts this card in the upgrade slots. The card has a default energy cost of 8,000 FE/t, double the Infinity Card's cost, reflecting the more powerful cross-dimension functionality. When both cards are installed together, the total additional energy cost is 12,000 FE/t (4,000 + 8,000) on top of the transmitter's base usage.

Power Requirements

Running both cards simultaneously adds 12,000 FE/t to your Wireless Transmitter's energy draw. If your network doesn't have enough power, the transmitter will shut down and you'll lose wireless access entirely. Make sure your Controller has adequate power input before installing both cards.

Reborn Storage Compatibility

RS Infinity Booster includes built-in compatibility with Reborn Storage. If you have Reborn Storage installed, both the Infinity Card and the Dimension Card will work with its Advanced Wireless Transmitter in addition to the standard Refined Storage Wireless Transmitter. The energy calculations and range behavior are identical for both transmitter types. The mod detects Reborn Storage at runtime and applies its mixins to the Advanced Wireless Transmitter Node automatically.

Configuration

RS Infinity Booster uses a server-side config file that lets you adjust the energy cost of both cards. The config is located in your server's or world's config directory as a TOML file. There are two configurable values:

Server Config Options

infinityCard.energyUsage4,000 (default), range: 0 to 2,147,483,647
dimensionCard.energyUsage8,000 (default), range: 0 to 2,147,483,647
Server Admins

If you want to make the cards more accessible early on, set both energy values to 0. If you want to gate them behind serious power infrastructure, increase the values. Setting the Infinity Card to 10,000+ and the Dimension Card to 20,000+ makes them a genuine endgame commitment that requires dedicated power generation.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the Infinity Card work with Wireless Crafting Terminals?

Yes. The Infinity Card and Dimension Card modify the Wireless Transmitter's range, not the wireless item itself. Any wireless device that connects through the Wireless Transmitter (Wireless Grid, Wireless Crafting Monitor, Wireless Fluid Grid, etc.) will benefit from the extended range.

Can I use both the Infinity Card and Dimension Card at the same time?

Yes, and this is the recommended setup. Place both cards into the Wireless Transmitter's upgrade slots. The combined energy cost is the sum of both cards (12,000 FE/t by default) plus the transmitter's base usage. This gives you unlimited range across all dimensions.

Why is my Wireless Transmitter not working after installing the cards?

The most likely cause is insufficient power. The cards add significant energy draw to your network. Check that your Controller is receiving enough power to sustain the increased load. If you just installed both cards, you need at least 12,000 FE/t of additional power capacity.

Does this mod work with Reborn Storage's Advanced Wireless Transmitter?

Yes. RS Infinity Booster has built-in compatibility with Reborn Storage. Both cards work identically in the Advanced Wireless Transmitter. The mod detects whether Reborn Storage is loaded and applies its changes to both transmitter types automatically.

Can the energy cost be changed on a server?

Yes. The server config file has separate energy usage settings for each card. The Infinity Card defaults to 4,000 FE/t and the Dimension Card to 8,000 FE/t, but both can be set to any value between 0 and 2,147,483,647. Setting them to 0 effectively removes the power penalty entirely.

Do I still need Range Upgrades with the Infinity Card installed?

No. The Infinity Card completely overrides the Wireless Transmitter's range calculation. Any Range Upgrades in the transmitter are ignored once an Infinity Card is present. You can safely remove them and use those upgrade slots for other purposes or save the Range Upgrades for another transmitter.
